“Boy Meets World” cast and crew came together on August 15, 2026, for star Will Friedle’s 50th birthday bash. The actor, who famously played Eric Matthews on the hit TV show, invited more than 170 people to the party. Most of the attendees spanned his entire personal and professional lives, including cast mates from 1988’s talk show “Don’t Just Sit There!”
Judging by a slew of photos posted to social media, the night was as magical as you might expect. It’s as though no time had passed at all for the “Boy Meets World” stars, and they were simply picking up where they left off. You’ll also notice countless other ’90s TV and film stars mingling in the crowd.
Take a look at the wonderful evening that feels like a page from a fairy tale.
The Prom Danielle Fisher & More Never Had
Danielle Fishel, who played Cory Matthews’ (Ben Savage) love interest Topanga Lawrence, posted a sweet tribute to “the prom party he never had,” she wrote on Instagram. “We took it back to 1994 with a killer playlist, an A+ actor pretending to be his vice principal Mr. Nedonovich, unhinged costumes and so much love in the room thanks to incredible friends & family. We love you so much, Will. You have a Finsta, so I know you’ll see this.”
The carousel of photos begin with a candid of Fishel in a dazzlingly blue floor-length dress and an all-smiles Friedle in a snazzy, velvet blue tuxedo. Countless more legendary 1990s TV and film stars attended, including Natanya Ross (Robyn Russo on “The Secret World of Alex Mack”), Andrew and Matthew Lawrence (from “Brotherly Love”), Arden Myrin (Abby Cosgrove on NBC’s “Working”) and Danny McNulty (Harvey ‘Harley’ Keiner on “Boy Meets World”).
Countless Birthday Tributes Pour In
Magical Rewind, Friedle’s iHeartRadio podcast with “The Cheetah Girls” star Sabrina Bryan, also shared a celebratory post with a video clip and group photo with “Boy Meets World” producers. “Will finally got his Prom and I bet it was even better than it would have been in high school,” one user commented. Famously, Friedle didn’t get to attend his high school prom at Avon High School in 1994.
“Whipped out our best looks for the wonderful Will Friedle’s 50th birthday/90s prom,” comedian and actress Lauren Kapkus (“Orange is the New Black”) posted with hilarious dancing footage. “I went for a chaperone vibe while Arden’s braces added a youthful charm!”
“Step by Step” actress Christine Lakin, who played Alicia “Al” Lambert, also took to Instagram to reflect on the evening. “No one throws a 90s prom quite like you. I’m so happy that other kid got caught sniffing glue so you could be the prom king,” she wrote under a carousel of sweet photos.
Natanya Ross stopped for a moment to “explain who Will is to me,” she began. “A guy who makes everyone feel so genuinely seen. Unwavering in his authenticity. And also maybe one of the nicest people you’ll ever know in your life. Both him and his wife. What a special evening.”
Ross added that neighter her nor her long-term boyfriend and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” star Nate Richert were able to go to prom. “My guess would be half the room did not go to their prom. Just one more way this universe they have created truly brings people together in the most special ways,” she continued. “And last night watching Will reminded me of what’s really important in life. Our friends and family. Also, I’m gonna have to text your wife to show you this.”
Notably absent was Ben Savage, “Boy Meets World” co-star who played Cory Matthews on the show. The missed appearance continues Savage’s fallout from the other cast members.
