Joey Lawrence Sizzles as He Jumps on Viral Bandwagon: VIDEO

Joey Lawrence, 49, is sizzling as he jumps on a new viral social media trend that has celebrities and social media users taking a nostalgic look back at the past.

Lawrence appeared at the beginning of a new Instagram video, set to the 1998 Goo Goo Dolls hit song “Iris.” He smiled for the camera as the quote, “Dad, what were you like in the ’90s?” appeared in a video overlay.

Joey Lawrence’s Viral Clip is a ’90s Throwback

Joey Lawrence captioned his viral trend video, “What a decade.” He followed that with a black heart and the hashtag 90s.

Following, the actor and former Season 3 “Dancing with the Stars” competitor was subsequently seen in a series of throwback pics that took fans back to his time as a teen idol and the star of the ’90s television series, “Blossom.”

The images show Lawrence in character as “Blossom’s” Joey Russo, and in a series of teen pinups from the decades’ most popular newsstand magazines. The nostalgic photos quickly transported fans back to his teen idol era.

In the comments section of Lawrence’s Instagram post, fans shared mixed reviews of this viral trend. Some loved it for the good memories it brought back, while others said it made them feel their age.

“I love and hate this trend! Making me so nostalgic,” wrote one follower.

A second follower penned, “Thank you for making the 90s so special for us.” A third declared, “still fine as wine.”

“Thank you for being our heartthrob in the 90s. It’s funny, I had most of those as posters on my wall lol,” noted a fourth follower.

What is Joey Lawrence Doing Now?

Joey Lawrence remains a familiar face on TV and film today. He also hosts a podcast with his brothers Matthew and Andrew Lawrence called “Brotherly Love.”

The podcast’s title comes from the hit ’90s television series the trio starred in. It aired on NBC and the WB from 1995 through 1997.

In September 2024, Lawrence told PEOPLE that although acting was the way the brothers earned a living, their parents made sure to balance their on-camera lives with regular, off-camera experiences. The family tried to ensure that their kids didn’t experience the pitfalls of child stardom.

“Our parents [Joseph and Donna] are great,” Joey said in September 2024. “We had our grandparents with us a lot and we really had a large group that was constantly traveling and insulating and made it about the work.”

“The work was primarily a hobby, treated like travel baseball or sports for a lot of kids. It was never life.”

Joey Lawrence is married to Samantha Cope. As of November 2025, the couple was expecting their second child, a son. Lawrence has three daughters: Liberty, Charleston, and his youngest daughter, Dylan.
