Brad Pitt, is that you? ’90s pop icon Ricky Martin had fans doing a double take after stepping out with a fresh new look.
The “Livin’ La Vida Loca” artist was nearly unrecognizable at the Venice International Film Festival at the Sala Grande on Sunday, September 6.
New Look
Ricky Martin stepped out in Italy looking dapper as ever—but not exactly like the Ricky Martin fans love.
The Puerto Rican artist — who arrived at the festival with director Gael García — wore a white double-breasted suit jacket by Tom Ford with subtle polka dots over a loosely-buttoned white dress shirt. He paired the look with loose black slacks and a simple diamond necklace. But it was his hair and facial hair that stole the show.
Martin ditched his signature dark locks for a clean-shaven, bleach-blonde look with a matching blonde beard and mustache.
Fans were shocked to see the former “General Hospital” star with a fresh new look, with many confusing the singer for actor Brad Pitt.
“Looks like Brad pitt,” one fan commented on Instagram.
“Thought it was Brad Pitt for a second 😂😂,” another laughed.
“Thought it was Brad Pitt with brown contacts,” a third added, noting the different eye colors between the two stars.
“I almost thought this was Brad Pitt,” yet another shared via X.
Martin made his debut at the Venice International Film Festival for the premiere of his upcoming Spanish-language film, “Hombre al Agua.” He is set to star in the film as Roby, while also serving as executive producer. His performance in the film was kept under wraps until the trailer dropped in August.
Changing Style
His latest look is, of course, not the first time the “Shake Your Bon Bon” artist has ditched his dark hair.
In January 2021, he took to social media to debut a bleached beard, while leaving his hair long and dark.
“When bored, bleach,” he captioned the photo.
Martin has been turning heads all year, beginning with his performance in Apple TV’s “Palm Royale,” in which he plays Robert Diaz, an ex Korean War Marine and bartender. He opened up about how hectic the role was to play in an interview with Parade.
“Something happens and Maxine [played by Kristen Wiig] is running. And she leaves the room, and I’m like, ‘Can we have a day, a normal day in this city?'” he said in January. “Because it was overwhelming and exhausting. Everything. And just reading it was like, ‘Oh my God, what is this? What’s gonna happen?'”
The following month, Martin shocked fans with a surprise appearance during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. She donned an all-white look and a microphone to duet with on the hit “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii” with Bad Bunny.
“They have to give me several hours to let me understand the tsunami of emotions I am feeling,” he captioned an Instagram post following the special evening. The Emmy winning performance also featured appearances by Lady Gaga, Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, and more.
