Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce broke the internet with their sweet August 27 engagement announcement. Now, the NFL star has revealed his favorite song from her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and provided details on the project.
According to PEOPLE, Kelce made the declaration on the August 27 episode of the “New Heights” podcast. He said of Swift’s new album, “I’m gonna go ahead and just keep poking the bear to all the Swifties.”
Kelce continued, “I keep listening to this album. I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats, but it’s just still so poetic in her melodies and her references and stuff. It’s just so much fun to listen to, man. I’ve been dancing throughout the house.”
His brother, Jason Kelce, then asked for his favorite song from “The Life of a Showgirl.” He replied, “I think ‘Opalite’ might be my favorite, though… At least now, every time it comes on, I always catch myself.”
Swift Announced Her New Album on Kelce’s Podcast
Swift is one of the most successful recording artists and performers of all time. As a result, her fans had been eagerly awaiting her release of new music for quite some time. Luckily, she officially announced “The Life of a Showgirl” on the August 13 episode of the “New Heights” podcast.
According to PEOPLE, the new album is scheduled for release on October 3. This upcoming collection of songs follows the release of her previous studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 19, 2024, which garnered worldwide success and acclaim.
Regarding “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift has also unveiled the album cover, as well as the track list. It includes “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor, ” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wish List,” and more. Notably, the title track from the album is a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
So far, there’s no word on whether Swift will release a lead single from the album before its release.
Their Engagement Anouncement
As mentioned, Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on August 22. According to Today, Kelce’s dad revealed in an interview that his son had actually proposed about two weeks before the big announcement. They started dating in 2023.
Regarding the announcement, Swift said on Instagram, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” She also included several engagement pictures in the post.
