Kelly Clarkson has a top-notch guest host for her talk show in early March — but is she set to take over for the “American Idol” winner? As Pink steps in for a week on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she’s addressing rumors that she could replace Clarkson, who is set to end her show after this season.
Is Pink Replacing Kelly Clarkson?
Pink’s guest hosting duty on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” during the first week of March has some people wondering if she will permanently take on the gig.
As rumors swirled, Pink took to Instagram to give the real scoop.
“Hi everybody,” Pink said in a since-deleted video. “Just in a continuation of debunking all of the sources that we’ve got going on in the world — I’m not taking over ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.'”
The singer continued, “I’m doing a fun thing for my buddy Kelly because it’s a fun thing. If I wanted a talk show, I would not have to audition. I would just have one, and it would be amazing.”
“Not something I’m currently researching or looking for in my busy, busy, busy world,” she added. “We’re a little busy. We love you. Bye!”
Kelly Clarkson Announced the End of Her Talk Show
On February 2, Clarkson took to Instagram to announce her plans to end the hit talk show.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,” she shared at the time. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”
The “Idol” alum continued, “I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”
Clarkson noted, “Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision — but this season will be my last hosting ‘TKCS.'”
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she added. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time … you never know where I might show up next.”
The singer added, “But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
