In an Instagram post, Robinson was cryptic about his reasoning behind the split, noting, “I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it’s important for me to express my circumstance.” However, in the latest episode, an emotional Robinson shared the explosive reason their relationship had ended and why what ultimately occurred left him “lack faith in humanity.”

BravoChef Ben Robinson got candid about the end of his engagement like never before during the Feb. 17 episode of “Below Deck Down Under.” After wrapping up a particularly intense charter with the women of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” the crew let off steam with a night out that ended in the hot tub. During a game of “Shag, Marry, Kill,” both chief stew Daisy Kelliher and sous chef Alesia Harris jokingly chose to “kill” Robinson, a playful moment that quickly turned personal for the chef, as the conversation shifted to his recent split.
Kelliher comforted Robinson as he became emotional in the hot tub, admitting to her, “I’m just really sensitive right now.” Later, in a confessional, Robinson struggled to hold back tears as he opened up about the painful reasons behind the end of his engagement.
“I was meant to get married last year. And I caught her—she had been seeing one of my friends for a very long time. I spent $50,000 on a wedding I didn’t attend,” he admitted. “And that’s why I’m more sensitive now because I lack faith in humanity. That’s it, yeah. [Expletive],” he added.
During the season 4 premiere, Robinson briefly addressed his breakup, explaining that returning to the franchise after six years felt like the right move both personally and professionally. “My personal life hasn’t been quite as successful … He needed a chef, and I needed an escape, and I thought, ‘Why not?’ In essence, we saved each other. This could be the perfect little distraction,” he shared.

According to Bravo, in a now-deleted Instagram post, the chef shared, “After a wonderful [four-year] relationship with my love Kiara I decided to take the next step and propose… I feel like the luckiest man alive!”
Speaking to Us Weekly about engagement, an enthusiastic Robinson shared, “I look forward to a life of love and laughter with the lovely Kiara. It’s an amazing feeling [to be] secure in such a beautiful romance and friendship.”
However, in an updated Instagram post shared in September 2024, Robinson revealed that he had called off the engagement, though he did not provide any specific details about what led to the split.
“I am no longer getting married. We have decided to go our separate ways, and I think that this is the best decision for both of us. I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it’s important for me to express my circumstance. With any luck, my grievances will be overshadowed by the support of my loyal followers, friends, and family. You always give me strength,” he wrote.
