During a November 14 panel at BravoCon 2025, one of Scheana Shay‘s “Vanderpump Rules” costars shed light on why Shay is not part of the cast on “The Valley.”
“The Valley,” which premiered in March 2024, is a spinoff series of “Vanderpump Rules” which came on the air shortly before “Vanderpump” shifted focus to a fresh set of faces after a hiatus. Of course, fans still cared about their original favorite cast members after their final “Vanderpump” escapades ended on such a high note of popularity. The infamous “Scandoval” saga took the show to new heights of popularity as Tom Sandoval and “Love Island” host Ariana Madix’s relationship was tested by a whirlwind of drama and strife that made for extremely captivating reality TV. The Valley” seemed like the perfect place to showcase the OG group and feed their fans who were still heavily invested.
Back in November 2024, The Hollywood Reporter said fans could expect to see Lala Kent, Scheana Shay, Brock Davies and Tom Schwartz make appearances on the show.
Now in November 2025, comments made during a panel at BravoCon have shed light on why Scheana didn’t join her “Vanderpump Rules” friends as a cast member for season 3. Read on for details.
Scheana Shay Declined to Film for ‘The Valley’ Season 3
During a November 14 BravoCon panel, Kristen Doute said Shay had a conversation about being on the show with higher ups but that she ultimately decided not to do the show. Doute doesn’t know exactly why.
“That’s on her,” the report quotes Doute as saying about Shay’s decision not to go on camera.
US Weekly called Scheana’s absence a “shocking revelation” and explained that Lala Kent declined to discuss where things stand between her and Shay. The outlet noted that Shay previously alleged things went sour between her and Kent due to an affair Shay’s husband, Brock Davies, had in 2021.
‘The Valley’ New Cast Members Were Confirmed
During the same panel, during which a large group that included Danny Booko, Nia Booko, Luke Broderick, Brittany Cartwright, Jason Caperna, Janet Caperna, Kristen Doute, Jasmine Goode, Jesse Lally, Michelle Saniei and Zack Wickham appeared onstage, per US Weekly, it was confirmed that Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz were joining the lineup.
Schwartz revealed during the panel that he considers his girlfriend, Kiana Carroll, the “love of his life.” However, he did add that he will “always have love” for his ex-wife and former costar, Katie Maloney.

Love me some Schwartzy! The voice of reason and so puppy dog cute!
Agreed they grew up on that show. Katie needed more, tom was immature back then. But not knowing them personally, I’m sure they still have friend feelings hanging around.
