‘Changed For Good’
We kick things off with an amazing opening number from the pros and troupe. It was a show-stopping medley to “No One Mourns the Wicked / Defying Gravity / For Good / Thank Goodness / Dancing Through Life / What Is This Feeling?” from “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good.” A fun start to the show!
The stars, co-hosts, and judges are all in place. Time to get started for the night! Jon M. Chu, director of “Wicked,” is serving as a guest judge tonight on “DWTS” 2025. The scores and votes from last week will be combined with the scores and votes from tonight to determine tonight’s elimination.
Scott Hoying & Rylee Arnold
Scott said “Wicked” is his life, and he has seen it on Broadway for 20 years. For tonight, they’ll be performing a Contemporary to “The Wizard And I” by Cynthia Erivo featuring Michelle Yeoh. I am intrigued to see how a contemporary works for him, as they are working on him taking up space tonight.
He started a little rough for me, as he seemed to be forcing the moves. Scott is tall and lanky, and it just doesn’t work with him for dance, but as the song went on, he got more fluid with things. He needs to loosen up more.
Judges’ Feedback: Jon said he wanted some of the transitions to be cleaner. Bruno said so good to see him let loose in the land of Oz. Carrie Ann said thank you, that was an amazing way to start the show. Derek said you need to think about making it more seamless and work on the transitions.
Judges’ Scores: 28 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 58 out of 80 for the two weeks
Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy
For tonight, they will be performing a Jazz to “What Is This Feeling?” by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. She has always wanted to do musicals, but can’t sing one lick. This is her chance to live out her dreams tonight.
I love the song and how they worked off of each other for this performance. They worked the dance from the movie into the routine, also, which is also amazing. The choreography was great, and this was a good one on “Dancing With the Stars” 2025 tonight.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said it was delicious, and it was right back to the classic musical comedies. Carrie Ann said it wasn’t her most difficult dance, but it was her best dance. Derek said her personality and the way she told the story were wonderful. Jon said it was so fun to see her do this dance.
Judges’ Scores: 35 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 70 out of 80 for the two weeks
Robert Irwin & Witney Carson
After last week’s performance, how do you perform tonight? They joke about having done enough crying this season! For this performance, they will dance a Jazz to “Dancing Through Life” by Jonathan Bailey featuring Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, and Cynthia Erivo. He loves “Wicked” and this is one of his favorite songs.
Yeah, they did their thing. Jazz and Robert Irwin go together. He has such a big personality; it came through with this performance. He could definitely have a career on Broadway, as his personality draws you in. A fun routine, and they had fun with it.
Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said that it needs to be his theme song, and that was so ambitious. Derek said he needs to change out his hiking boots for Broadway shoes, and he was meant to be a performer. Jon said that seeing him in person is even better than watching at home. Bruno said his energy, determination, and commitment to every performance are unbelievable.
Judges’ Scores: 36 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 71 out of 80 for the two weeks
Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
Whitney was upset about being off on the music last week. She is excited to perform a Quickstep to “Popular” by Ariana Grande. However, she is so focused on being in sync, will it mess her up tonight?
Yeah, I am going to love these routines tonight. There is just so much fun and so much personality in all of them. These two were very quick on their feet, but they made it work. It was fun and upbeat, and Mark was showing off some major sass during this one on “Dancing With the Stars” 2025.
Judges’ Feedback: Derek said we are discovering a star before our eyes. That was such a complicated routine, and it was so fantastic. Jon said it was the perfect blend of technicality and art. Bruno said that was insanely good. It was Glinda gone ballistic. Carrie Ann said that was unhinged, in all the right ways.
Judges’ Scores: 39 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 72 out of 80 for the two weeks. They got the first 10s of the season!
Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
They had the best score for last week and the highest score of the season. That means the pressure is on for Wicked Night. For tonight, they will be performing a Rumba to “I’m Not That Girl” by Cynthia Erivo. However, they didn’t do well with a Latin dance before.
I saw a much more comfortable man on that dance floor tonight. He was at ease, and he was working those hips. Dylan seemed to be having fun, and it was fun to watch!
Judges’ Feedback: Jon said this is a hard song, and he was so connected with the story. Bruno said subtle, sensual, romantic. His hips are no problem at all. Carrie Ann said he is growing. Derek said he is progressing and paying attention to the details, and he appreciates that.
Judges’ Scores: 32 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 68 out of 80 for the two weeks
Andy Richter & Emma Slater
We are halfway through this season, and Andy is still here! For tonight, they will be performing a Jazz to “One Short Day” by Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel featuring Michael McCorry Rose.
Yes, America loves him, but his dances just don’t have much content. He doesn’t move much, and the dance moves are lacking for me. I want to see more, especially halfway through the season.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said we are all bewitched, and he was on time. Carrie Ann said that it was really good, and he is living proof that the art form of dance is for everyone. Derek said he is generally proud of him. Jon said he loves watching him every week, just break open.
Judges’ Scores: 27 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 51 out of 80 for the two weeks
Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 34
They felt like they had a great routine, but the scores were lower. For tonight, they will be dancing a Contemporary to “Defying Gravity ” by Cynthia Erivo featuring Ariana Grande. This could be a strong one, especially as a contemporary. However, she is feeling the limitations of her body and her injuries from her car accident.
Yeah, this was it. She had some amazing moves, and they were in sync. Then that ending…love it!
Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said that it was something special, and she burst into tears. Derek said she is truly defying the odds, and she moves with such grace and wisdom. Jon said she is amazing. Bruno said she went into orbit tonight, and she killed it.
Judges’ Scores: 36 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 66 out of 80 for the two weeks
Jen Affleck & Jan Ravnik
Jen thinks she is a bad dancer and is ready for Jan to throw harder choreography at her. For tonight, they are performing a Foxtrot to “As Long as You’re Mine” by Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey.
I feel this was a better routine for them. She seemed to be having a little more fun and was more relaxed. It was simple, but nice to watch.
Judges’ Feedback: Derek said he felt like she was connected to the dance. Jon said he loves her commitment to pushing herself, and he loved the storytelling. Bruno said her flow of movement is improving a lot, and it’s not what you do, but how you do it. Carrie Ann said she is still in process, but likes the direction she is going.
Judges’ Scores: 32 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 61 out of 80 for the two weeks
Danielle Fishel & Pasha Pashkov on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
Carrie Ann told them last week that they seem to perform the same dance each week, so they want to bring it tonight on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34. For tonight, they will perform an Argentine Tango to “No Good Deed” by Cynthia Erivo. It’s brand new territory for them, and it’s the complete opposite of Topanga.
While it was meant to be intense, it seemed to have no emotion. It was more intense with the dance moves, but I felt no emotions in that routine. It missed for me.
Judges’ Feedback: Jon said he loved seeing her rise to the role of Elphaba. Bruno said full of passion and drama, that was pure, real Argentine tango. Carrie Ann said tonight was the breakthrough. Derek said the difficulty level of that routine, those were professional moves.
Judges’ Scores: 36 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 65 out of 80 for the two weeks
Jordan Chiles & Ezra Sosa
They’ve had the same scores the past few weeks, so she wants a 9 tonight. Jordan also has the same nail tech as Cynthia Erivio. We are ending the night of performances on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34 with the Olympian. For tonight, they’ll be performing a Rumba to “For Good” by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
I mean, the song choice is great for them and this dance. Jordan is working that dance floor and seems to have a lot of confidence in this routine. They look good, and I was impressed.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said drop dead gorgeous. Carrie Ann said it was perfection. Derek said that the routine was stunning and the quality of movement. Jon said he saw her eyes, and she wants to win this thing.
Judges’ Scores: 39 out of 40 tonight, and a total of 71 out of 80 for the two weeks
