As “Dancing with the Stars” fans eagerly await the announcement for the cast of Season 34, there’s already a fan favorite: Robert Irwin!
Robert is the son of Terri Irwin and the late wildlife conservationist, Steve Irwin. He is beloved because he is so humble and likable, and many people will be rooting for his success in the dance competition. But there will be no one cheering louder than his sister, Bindi Irwin.
Bindi Irwin Leaves Home Temporarily
Bindi shared a post on Instagram on August 30 to announce a big life decision: She and her daughter, Grace, have moved to Los Angeles so that they can be there for Robert while he competes on the show.
“G’day guys. I wanted to pop on here and share a little bit of a life update with you,” she told fans in the video. “We have officially moved to Los Angeles—not forever—for the next three months. Australia Zoo will always be home. But we are here to support my incredible brother on Dancing With the Stars.”
Bindi revealed her excitement about being able to support Robert and shared her predictions for his time on DWTS. “He is going to shine, though. And I know in my heart that he’s going to make it far because he is such a fantastic human being,” she told the camera.
The siblings share a close bond, but this video highlights their closeness even more. In the caption, Bindi shared her thoughts. “10 years ago I won @dancingwiththestars here in America with the most wonderful @derekhough. Now, I get to cheer on my (not so little) brother @robertirwinphotography!” she wrote.
The message continues, “If you’re wondering who will be cheering the loudest in the audience – it will definitely be me and Grace. She has already chosen all her dresses to wear in the ballroom audience each week. #DWTS. We’re super proud of you, Robert.”
Fans Show the Irwins Some Love
Bindi will be a great person for Robert to have in his corner, not just because she loves him, but because she has experience on the show. She competed on Season 21 and won the Mirrorball Trophy alongside professional dance partner Derek Hough.
Bindi’s post has been flooded with reactions from fans and friends wanting to show their support. Among them is Hough, who reacted with red heart emojis.
“You’re so adorable!! Best family ever!! We can’t wait to watch & cheer,” a fan wrote. “You were the best ever! I enjoyed every episode with you in it. So pleased for Robert. I know he’ll bring it!” another person shared.
A third person wrote, “Thank you for being the best big sister to your incredible little brother, and we can’t wait to watch him dance every week!”
