It’s not an easy job, and Inaba has spoken about the hatred and criticism she has faced from being on the show. Passionate fans often go too far when they disagree with how she scores their favorite contestants. However, it is a job that Hough loves. He also feels honored to do it alongside seasoned judges Inaba and Tonioli. They have been with the ABC dance competition since Season 1, but Hough joined in Season 29 in 2020, filling the spot of the late Len Goodman.
Robert Irwin and his professional partner Witney Carson were crowned the Mirrorball champions, narrowly beating Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, who came in second. After the season wrapped, Hough posted his thoughts on Instagram. He reflected on what each of the finalists and the pros achieved, for his sister, Julianne Hough, and her co-host, Alfonso Ribeiro, and how he felt about working with Inaba and Tonioli.
“Bruno, Carrie Ann, honestly, I pinch myself with gratitude every time I sit beside you both. After 20 years, our friendship just keeps growing, and it’s a joy to share our love of dance and this show together. I’m truly honored and so fortunate to be a part of this.” In the caption, Hough wrote, “Final thoughts and thanks to this extraordinary cast and team of @dancingwiththestars #dwts.”
