Actress Jenna Dewan is taking a walk down memory lane as she revisits her time working on the 2006 film “Step Up.” As one of Dewan’s most recognized roles, she starred opposite Channing Tatum, whom she would go on to marry in 2009. The couple welcomed a daughter named Everly before splitting in 2018.

It’s been 20 years since Dewan portrayed Nora Clark in the beloved dance film, and her latest Instagram post revisiting the film comes as rumors continue to swirl that she’ll soon be heading back to the dance floor on season 35 of “Dancing With the Stars.”

With “Step Up” celebrating its 20th anniversary, Jenna Dewan, who portrayed Nora Clark in the beloved dance film, shared a collection of behind-the-scenes photos from her time working on the movie.

The first photo in her Instagram carousel shows a then-25-year-old Dewan smiling and in costume as she points to her name stitched into a chair. A second photo shows Dewan in a robe and in her movie trailer, while the third slide shows her dance performance from the movie. A fourth and final snapshot sees Dewan practicing in the dance studio.

“Can’t believe it’s been 20 years since Step Up was released,” she captioned her images alongside a crying face emoji. “The movie that changed my life forever. The way you guys love this movie all these years later is beyond.”

“Step Up” was a surprise box-office hit despite receiving harsh reviews from film critics. According to The Numbers, the movie was made on a $12 million production budget and went on to gross more than $110 million worldwide. Its success eventually spawned five more films, though Dewan only appeared in the original 2006 film. Tatum starred in its 2008 sequel, “Step Up: The Streets.”

According to E! News, Dewan is rumored to be a contestant on season 35 of “Dancing With the Stars.” However, for years, there have been mixed reactions to casting a celebrity contestant with extensive dance backgrounds, believing this would give them an advantage in the competition.

According to Billboard, Dewan was once a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and starred in the music videos for “Doesn’t Really Matter” (2000) and “All For You” (2001). She also accompanied Jackson on her “All for You” tour, dancing for the iconic singer for two years.

According to TV Insider, Dewan also starred in music videos for artists such as NSYNC, Mandy Moore, Missy Elliot, and toured as a backup dancer for Justin Timberlake.

The actress also hosted the first two seasons of “World of Dance” and the reality dating/dance show “Flirty Dancing.”

In a recent interview with “Good Morning America,” Dewan teased that she would star on DWTS if given the opportunity. “The thing with me is like I never say never because I love dancing so much and I miss it so much. I just already know myself that it would be one of those really hard things to say no to.”

The DWTS season 35 cast announcement will be announced on Wednesday, September 2 on “Good Morning America.”
