English actress Dame Helen Mirren is no stranger to stepping out looking glamorous. The stunning star has been nailing her looks for decades. Mirren, 80, continued the habit of a lifetime when she attended the Golden Globes Golden Eve event on the evening of January 6.
The event, which took place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California, was held specifically to celebrate Mirren’s work, and that of Sarah Jessica Parker. It had the full title “Golden Eve: The Golden Globes Honor Helen Mirren & Sarah Jessica Parker.”
Mirren was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award (for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”). Parker received the Carol Burnett Award (for “outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen”). Beloved “Star Wars” actor Harrison Ford presented Mirren with her award.
Helen Mirren Attended the Event With Her Husband
GettyDame Helen Mirren took the opportunity to use the event as a rare date night with her husband. He is, of course, American film director Taylor Hackford, 81. Hackford is known for directing the likes of 1997’s “The Devil’s Advocate” and 2004’s “Ray.”
While Hackford looked dapper in his suit, Mirren stole the show with her elegant look. She wore a custom pale pink Stella McCartney dress, some truly gorgeous jewelry by Margot McKinney, and an Ahikoza By Brham bag that perfectly matched her outfit shade-for-shade.
According to People, McKinney’s Bloem Collier that Mirren wore boasted eight tourmalines weighing 240.56 carats, a large portion of which was made up by its 65.85-carat center gem. The item also included an exuberant mix of 27 large Australian South Sea baroque pearls, white and brown diamonds, a collection of blue, pink and purple sapphires, pink tourmalines, amethysts and rubellites. The gemstones were all set in 18K yellow gold.
It wasn’t the first time Mirren had worn McKinney’s jewelry. For the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, her 400-carat-plus necklace was designed by the renowned Australian jewelry designer. McKinney is known for her bold, nature-inspired haute joaillerie featuring rare gems.
Mirren Had a Busy 2025
GettyThe honoring of Dame Helen Mirren at the Golden Globes Golden Eve event couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. 2025 epitomized her contribution to the world of entertainment. As an octogenarian, her continued hard work is putting performers half her age to shame.
In the past year, she’s had multiple roles on the big and small screens. Regarding movies, she appeared in the crime comedy “The Thursday Murder Club” and the festive family drama film “Goodbye June.” Moreover, on television, she appeared as part of the main cast in the neo-Western Paramount+ series “1923” and the crime drama series “MobLand,” also on Paramount+.
Additionally, in 2026, Mirren will star in Anton Corbijn’s upcoming crime thriller “Switzerland,” which doesn’t yet have a specific release date confirmed (filmography info per IMDb).
We’d like to congratulate Dame Helen Mirren for receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award. There really isn’t a more deserving lady in the entertainment business.
