Week 5 Begins

The chefs are back in the kitchen and are excited to see vegetables! We will share updates as tonight’s episode airs, so keep refreshing the page for the latest updates.

10:31 p.m. – The chefs are working in teams of three to create a three-course meal featuring only vegetables. Each course must come from a different category of vegetables, and they must create an appetizer, entree, and dessert.

10:46 p.m. – We are moving along, as the apps and main courses have been served. After the apps, we had the Green Team leading with 168 points. Then it was the Red Team with 113 points. Followed by the Gray team with 103 points.

11:02 p.m. – It came down to the desserts, but Buddha pulled it out for the Red Team. The Green Team dominated, so the Gray Team is headed to the Elimination Cook-Off.

11:07 p.m. – We have Emily, Katie, and Matt working on this head-to-head-to-head challenge. They have to create a dish using all three of the three sisters: corn, squash, and beans. The chef with the lowest score is eliminated.

Tasting & Final Results

The chefs complete their dishes and time for tasting by the judges:

  • Katie: Michael said it was a bold choice to serve a dish that looked so simple. The rice is good. Wylie wanted more seasoning for the rice. Padma wanted the corn to be highlighted more.
  • Matt: Padma said the dish is beautiful. Michael likes dark-roasted squash, but wanted it cooked more.
  • Emily: Wylie wanted less of the dressing. Michael said the dressing was too heavy on the sesame oil.

Padma said all three dishes were good tonight. The judges vote and Padma voted for Katie, but Michael and Wylie voted for Emily. That means Emily has been eliminated tonight.
