Beloved “Friday Night Lights” and “Nashville” actress Connie Britton is engaged! Late on October 26, 2025, People confirmed that Britton, who created and starred in the Hallmark series “The Motherhood” this spring, is engaged to her beau of nearly six years, producer David Windsor.
The couple has kept a very low profile, but made headlines at “The Motherhood” premiere in May, which Windsor not only attended, but was photographed kissing Britton in their first public display of affection.
Connie Britton Became a Mom Years After Her Divorce
GettyIt’s been 30 years since Britton, 58, was last married; she was with John Britton from 1991 to 1995, per People. Eager to be a mom, she didn’t let being single stand in her way. Britton adopted her son, Eyob (nicknamed Yoby), from Ethiopia in 2011, per Parents.
She told Parade in March, “I knew that I hadn’t achieved the kind of partnership that I was looking for to have a spouse and a child together. And so I thought, ‘This is the time, I’m going to start the adoption process.’”
She and Windsor have been together since 2019, but have kept their relationship relatively quiet, only making a handful of appearances together. So when Windsor showed up to support Britton at the New York launch of “The Motherhood” in May, and even planted a kiss on her, it made headlines around the world.
The two were photographed kissing again on October 24 while at LAX Airport, but this time, Britton was sporting a sparkly diamond on the ring finger of her left hand, People reported. The outlet did not report who confirmed the news of their engagement.
Connie Britton Recently Described How She Knew David Windsor Was ‘The One’
In March, Britton told Parade that she knew Windsor was “the one” early on in their relationship.
“What I was really looking for was a partnership where there’s constant growth, on both sides, and a sort of deepening of each other,” she told the outlet. “It’s not just like, ‘Oh, I found true love.’ It’s that I found somebody who I can walk on a journey with that is going to be constantly ever-changing.”
Windsor is a well-known Hollywood producer, whose projects have included the hit NBC series “This Is Us” and the 2025 Hulu mini-series “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox,” according to IMDb.
In January 2023, Britton told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show, “I have an amazing man in my life now” and noted that he was “definitely stepping into that more parental role” with Yoby. She also told Cohen that Windsor had been married before and has his own kids, too.
Connie Britton Met Her Now-Fiancé at a Mutual Friend’s Party
GettyWindsor and Britton met at mutual friend’s party in 2019, she told Cohen, recalling, “I walked into his party and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t know a single soul. I’m talking to my friend and he looks past me, and he sees David across the room and he is like, ‘There’s someone here you have to meet.’”
“I’ll never forget that moment,” she continued, “because I turned around and I looked at who he was pointing at and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I wanna meet him!'”
However, the introduction didn’t happen and the two didn’t sit at the same table that night, so Britton said they didn’t get to meet. However, Windsor got her number and called the next day — and the rest is history.

Nobody deserves this happiness more than Ms Britton she is a fantastic actress and appears to be a real down to earth person. May God bless all three of you with all the love and happiness anyone could ask 🙏 for.
