Hallmark star Melissa Peterman has repeatedly made it clear how much she loves seeing her best friend, “The Voice” coach Reba McEntire, happy. For the past four years, Rex Linn has been a source of much of that joy.
“I just have never seen her happier, more at ease, more comfortable,” Peterman told People earlier this month about McEntire’s fiancé. “It’s lovely to watch.”
Along with being an integral part of the “Haul Out the Holly” franchise and Jonathan Bennett’s “Finding Christmas” co-host, she stars with McEntire and Linn in “Happy Place.” On November 21, Peterman posted a “Rex Linn appreciation post” on Instagram, and her sincere words were heartfelt.

“Tonight’s episode of Happy’s Place was a favorite of mine because of this moment with [Rex Linn],” she captioned a photo of Linn and her in a warm embrace. “This is a Rex Linn appreciation post. Rex is one of the best actors I know. He has the greatest work ethic, he loves the work. He has been doing it well and been successful for a long time but his excitement and interest in every aspect of this business is genuine. He remains interested in the process and the people he meets every day.”
“I feel really lucky to work with him and call him friend,” she continued. “I hope you liked tonight’s episode. Thank you Rex.”
Peterman has had a front-row seat to the couple’s relationship since their first date. Nine months into their relationship, she knew her friend had found someone special.
“He lets her be her. You know?” she told Closer Weekly at the time. “I think that’s what we all want. We want someone that will let us be who we really are.”

McEntire and Peterson first met on the set of “Reba” in 2001, and the two became fast friends. Since then, any opportunity to work together, they’ve taken it, with Peterman even going on tour with her.
“When I was out on tour, she’d come with me, open the show, do a bit in the middle of the concert,” McEntire told NBC. “And the crowd — their cheering for her was four times louder than it was for me at any time. Because they loved you to pieces.”
While Peterman’s eye roll was a good indication that McEntire was fibbing, the two women have always gushed about how rare and special their friendship is.
