Joanna Gaines Shares Her Mountain House Vision
For fans looking for even more details about the project, Joanna shared her design vision in two January Instagram posts.
In one video, she explained her idea for a reading nook. They transformed part of the kitchen into a cozy space with a wood-burning fireplace and shelves filled with books and puzzles. “I love the play on texture โ you’ve got the vertical and the horizontal,” she said of one wall.
She added, “I just feel like this room really came together. It’s a tight little space, but it is full of so much character and beauty.”
In another video, she shared her idea for creating character in an entryway. “This is what I love about design … What I really is hope is that, when you watch the show, that you can take bits and pieces that hopefully inspire you for your own home,” Joanna noted.
The Magnolia empire owner pointed out how space under the stairs can be updated, explaining, “You can really add value and story to your space.”
Chip and Joanna added Swiss chalet-inspired railings to the stairs and created a “cozy and inviting” nook underneath, which she said “created one of the most beautiful spots in this house.”
