Lil Jon Reveals Incredible Transformation During Body Building Competition

Lil Jon is not so lil’ anymore. The rapper and HGTV alum shared a video on September 3, 2025, of himself competing at the Muscle Beach Venice championship in Los Angeles. Now incredibly buff, Lil Jon celebrated taking third place in the Men’s Physique Master’s Over 45 category.

The Grammy winner, who starred for two seasons — in 2022 and 2024 — on HGTV’s “Lil’ Jon Wants to Do What,” expressed his gratitude for those who’ve helped him on his physical transformation, captioning his post, “3RD PLACE! ALHAMDULLIAH. THANKS TO ALL THAT SUPPORTED ME ON THIS JOURNEY!! Lil Jon Hopes to Inspire Others to Take Charge of Their Health

At Muscle Beach Venice, Lil Jon, 53, wore shorts emblazoned with “SOUL CHAKRA” across the front, which is the name of his holistic wellness brand, and a knit cap as he showed off his new physique, which he’s been working on for months.

The “Turn Down For What” artist told ABC7 at the event, “It’s been a lot physically, just in the gym, dedication, eating, focus. I’m winning just by being here and changing my lifestyle, mentally and physically.”

He also told the news station, “One of the things I hope is that I can be an inspiration to any people that say ‘I don’t have time, I can’t do it.’ If I can do it, then you can do it too.”

Lil Jon Has Been Working For Over a Year on His Physical Transformation

On September 6, Muscle Beach Venice uploaded an interview with Lil’ Jon before he earned his third-place medal, in which he said he ramped up his workouts before performing at Super Bowl LIX in February.

“I’ve been on a health journey for a while,” the rapper and home renovator said, “and then I started to take it a lot more serious to get ready for (the) Super Bowl.”

Lil’ Jon explained that his friend and trainer, Jay Galvin, had participated in a bodybuilding competition just before the Super Bowl and encouraged the rapper to give it a try.

Lil’ Jon, who released his first-ever guided meditation album in 2024, “Total Meditation,” said he has loved inspiring others to incorporate meditation into their wellness routines for their mental and physical health, so he’s hoping that his bodybuilding journey will also inspire others.

“It’s manifesting, it’s meditation, it’s also therapy,” he said of his mindfulness practice. “Our mental health and mental well-being is extremely important to me and I hope to try to turn people onto those things that they might not have never thought about doing.”

He continued, “After I put out my meditation album, so many people came to me and said they’d never tried meditation before, never could get into it, and then after they heard my stuff, they were like, ‘Wow, I really love this’ and started implementing it into their daily practices. I think with bodybuilding and fitness in general, it’s a mind thing as well because you have to be mentally focused and dedicated.”
