Adele Sets Acting Debut With Director Tom Ford’s Comeback Film

Adele is one of the most successful singer/songwriters of all time. Now, the chart-topper is stepping into the acting world as she has been cast in Tom Ford’s upcoming movie, “Cry To Heaven.” This is his first film since 2016’s “Nocturnal Animals.”

According to Deadline, in additon to Adele, “Cry To Heaven” has a stacked cast. It will star Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Hunter Schafer, Josephine Thiesen, Thandiwe Newton, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannemann, and Lux Pascal.”

The upcoming film is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel of the same name. In additon to directing, Ford wrote the script for the movie, and production is set to begin in January. Currently, they hope to release the film in autumn 2026.


Adele Recently Completed a Residency

Before signing on for the upcoming “Cry to Heaven” movie, Adele completed a Las Vegas residency. Notably, she began her “Weekends With Adele” show in November 2022. It initially ended in 2023, but the songstress added more shows for 2024. The final one of November 2024.

She said on Instagram, “Well, what an adventure! Las Vegas, you’ve been so good to me. This residency went on to mirror what 30 was about – lost and broken to healed and thriving! Seems so fitting in the end. The only thing left to do in this case is move on.”

Adele continued, “These 100 shows have been so easy to love. They were all completely different because I got to really be with every single person in the room every night. I’ve loved every single second of it, and I am so proud of it! I will miss it terribly, and I will miss YOU all terribly too. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! See you next time 🪐”


She’s Currently on a Break From Music

Adele released her most recent album, “30,” in 2021. The first single from the album, “Easy On Me,” arrived in October of that year to critical acclaim and went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Regarding new music, Adele spoke to German broadcaster ZDF in 2024. She said, “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
