Harry Styles Is a True Music Icon—And His Surprise Gift to Students From His Former School Proves It

Harry Styles is proof that even global superstars don’t forget where they came from.

The singer recently surprised students from his former high school with a night they will never forget. It shows that despite reaching the heights of superstardom, Styles remembers the places and people who gave him his start.

What Gift Did Harry Styles Give Students at His Former High School?

Harry Styles attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive in Cheshire, England, until the age of 16. The students at his alma mater had a chance to apply to win the tickets to Styles’ Manchester Live Co-Op Arena show on Sunday, March 8, reported The Daily Mail. A total of 50 students were gifted tickets, with an additional ticket to bring the person of their choosing.

The Manchester show will be the first full performance of Styles’ new album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” It will air live on Netflix.

Styles’s former Holmes Chapel teacher Headteacher Nigel Bielby spoke to The Daily Mail about the chance for students to see the entertainer for free. He said he was pleased that the former One Direction star was giving back to his former school community.

Bielby told The Daily Mail, “As Harry’s ex headteacher, I am so pleased that he has kept a place in his heart for his roots and for the village and school where he grew and thrived. Even given his incredible rise to fame and his immense talent and success, Harry understands what it means to be successful but also to maintain his sense of personal identity, integrity, and credibility.”

The educator concluded, “I am so grateful on behalf of all of the families I serve for the gift of allowing children from his old school to be part of an event that for some will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Harry Styles Latest Album Draws Inspiration From His Life Experiences

Harry Styles talked to Zane Lowe for an Apple Music interview where he shared that many of the songs on “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” came from his life experiences during a three-year hiatus from performing, where he traveled to Italy and Berlin, spent time being an uncle to his sister Gemma’s child, and developed a love of running.

All these experiences shaped Styles’ approach to recording new music. He said he had a defining moment while attending a Radiohead concert in Berlin. The entertainer told Lowe that the music event allowed him to feel like a part of the audience, revealing that it was at that time he understood “this is why I get on stage.”

He added, “I’m watching this and feeling everything that’s happening around me in the crowd. There’s strangers massaging each other’s shoulders when they’re getting emotional. Looking into the eyes of a stranger and screaming out the chorus together.”

“I had a moment where I was like, ‘I’m there so people can have this. I’m soundtracking this.'”

“Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally” was released on March 6, 2026.
