If anyone knows how to make an entrance, it’s Lady Gaga. The singer and actress never fails to outdo herself. From the meat dress she wore at the 2010 MTV Music Awards to the dress made from discarded car parts she wore to the LA premiere of “Gaga Chromatica Ball” in 2024, she knows how to keep all eyes on her.
But her approach to style is similar to her approach to makeup: she adores using it to reinvent herself. However, she will admit that her relationship with beauty has been a love-hate one.
“I don’t know that I’ve always been beauty-obsessed,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2023. “I think at times I’ve been beauty-adverse, actually. But I am somebody that is artistry-obsessed.”
But the creation of her own makeup brand, Haus Labs, in 2019 made her pay more attention to makeup. Haus Labs recently unveiled the launch of new foundation colors. An inspired Gaga created a video demonstrating her love for foundation by dousing herself in it.
Lady Gaga Drenches Herself in Foundation for Makeup Campaign
On September 12, Lady Gaga posted an Instagram video showing what “New Visions” was about.
“Our video campaign celebrates freedom of expression and our clean promise: A foundation that’s good for your skin, made with 20+ actives to deliver high-performance skincare and makeup in one — our bestselling Triclone™,” the caption read.
It begins with Gaga wearing a nude-colored corset over a white T-shirt, holding two Haus Labs paint cans. After setting the cans down, she smeared a little bit of the foundation on her bottom lip. Then she dunked her entire hand into one of the buckets. In no time, she was pouring the cans over her head, body, and all over the floor. She tossed the cans to the side and wriggled around on the floor in the foundation.
The video ended showing her drawing a heart in the foundation, and then kneeling, proudly covered completely in nude foundation.
Lady Gaga Demonstrates How She Uses Haus Labs on Brand’s Website
Lady Gaga first teased the new foundation launch on September 8. She posted a photo sitting at a table in a bed sheet, wearing oversized rectangular-shaped ballet shoes. A dove perched on her shoulder as she held an open makeup compact.
“New Visions: The Art of Beauty. Sep 12,” the caption read.
According to its website, the new foundation comes in 51 colors ranging from fair to deep. There are also before and after photos and videos of customers using the foundation, as well as Gaga.
The “Bad Romance” singer has been adamant that she uses Haus Labs for most of her red carpet events. Her numerous videos demonstrating the use of various products seem to confirm this. While fans are free to copy Gaga, she’s hoping that Haus Labs products are used as “a reflection of who you are,” she explained to Harper’s Bazaar. “You can do your make-up however you want; we just want you to feel free to be yourself.”
