LeAnn Rimes knows how to break the internet!
It’s been 26 years since the release of “Coyote Ugly” — a romantic comedy set in the heart of New York City, where a small-town Jersey girl played her hand at making it big in the city.
Despite two decades having passed, the iconic bar scene — featuring the Coyote Ugly Saloon bartenders as they celebrated their success and friendship forged through serving intoxicated patrons, breaking up fights and disagreeing on each other’s love lives — has been revived by Rimes, who joined in on the original scene as a cameo of herself, singing her song “Can’t Fight the Moonlight.”
In a video shared to Rimes’ Instagram, she recreated the scene in which she jumped on top of the bar at the end of the film to sing along with Piper Perabo, who played the role of Violet Sanford.
LeAnn Rimes Recreates ‘Coyote Ugly’ Bar Scene With ‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Co-Stars
In the epic remake, Rimes is joined by a group of her “9-1-1: Nashville” co-stars, including Jessica Capshaw, Juani Feliz, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Mackenzie Porter and Hailey Kilgore. The famed stars jumped on the stage at the Coyote Ugly Saloon Nashville to show off their iconic dance moves while Rimes finished the clip by singing “Can’t Fight the Moonlight.”
“nashville, do we serve water in this bar… 🍺 somebody call the 113 as your girls had a little fun of their own in between filming 🔥#coyoteugly #cantfightthemoonlight #911nashville @911nashville 🤍 big thank you @coyoteuglysaloonnash for having us and to the [expletive] ladies for teaching us some moves!” Rimes captioned her post.
“9-1-1: Nashville” actor Kilgore also reposted a video from the group’s remake, captioning it, “If I ever retire from singing/acting…. This is where you will find me 🤣.”
‘Coyote Ugly’ Fans Bask in the Nostalgia of Memorable Bar Scene
The multitalented artist’s clip caused a wave of reactions from fans of the iconic 2000s film, with many agreeing there needs to be a reboot after Rimes proved she still had the moves, while others shared just how fun it was to see the impressionable scene remade many years later.
“The movie that made an entire generation of girls wanna dance on a bar 💃🏻✨🥂,” commented one.
“I cannot express enough how obsessed I was with that movie as a teenager 😂,” wrote another.
“Okay now this is iconic AF 🔥🙌,” said a third.
“🔥 I scream – YES, did I think this was a sequel – YES 🔥 I love thisss,” added a fourth.
