Amanda Bynes is stepping into a brand-new chapter—this time in the music industry.
The former Nickelodeon star has officially signed a record deal with Create Music Group and is set to debut her first single, “Girlfriend,” on April 10.
Create Music Group Dished on Bynes’ New Music
The track features Fenix Flexin of Shoreline Mafia, giving the release a distinct West Coast influence.
The label told TMZ, the song is designed to be both catchy and replay-worthy.
“‘GIRLFRIEND’ blends melodic rap with EDM-inspired production, creating a catchy, high-replay record with a smooth West Coast bounce. Built around a strong hook and confident, flirt-heavy energy, it’s designed for repeat listens and wide playlist appeal. Featuring Fenix Flexin, it taps into a familiar L.A. sound while staying fresh and accessible,” Create Music Group shared.
The announcement marks a significant shift for Bynes, who rose to fame in the late 1990s on “All That” before landing her own hit series, “The Amanda Show.”
She later transitioned to film, becoming one of the most recognizable young actresses of the early 2000s.
In recent years, however, Bynes has kept a relatively low profile, focusing on her personal life and creative interests outside of acting.
Fans Already Can’t Wait to Hear the New Music
Her move into music signals a fresh start—and fans are already rallying behind her.
Create Music Group welcomed her with a celebratory social media post that read, “Welcome to the Create Fam Amanda Bynes!”
Bynes responded with a simple but heartfelt message: “So blessed ! xx”
Supporters quickly flooded the comments with encouragement.
Many expressed excitement about her return to the spotlight, with one writing they couldn’t wait to hear the new track, while another added, “Go Amanda go, we support your dreams.”
The music pivot didn’t come out of nowhere.
Bynes Teased Music Earlier in the Year
Earlier this year, Bynes teased fans with a glimpse into her studio sessions.
On January 19, she shared an audio snippet of a work-in-progress track she was developing with collaborators Nikki Paige, Zabastien Lucas, and Yung Yogi.
“Cooking up in the studio,” she wrote at the time. “Want this to be a dance trance edm track. We’ll see where we go with it.”
Now, with an official deal in place and a release date set, that experimentation is turning into a full-fledged debut.
The milestone also comes shortly after Bynes celebrated her 40th birthday, marking both a personal and professional turning point.
With “Girlfriend” set to drop April 10, fans won’t have to wait long to hear what this next era sounds like.
