Tommy Lee Jones’ Daughter Unexpectedly Passes Away – Our Hearts Go Out to Him

Tommy Lee Jones, who unforgettably starred with Loretta Lynn in “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” has lost his youngest child, Victoria Kafka Jones. TMZ reported on Thursday, January 1, 2026 that the only daughter of the legendary actor and filmmaker was found deceased inside a California hotel, the Fairmont San Francisco, in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. She was just 34 years old.

Victoria’s mother is Kimberlea Cloughley, to whom Jones was married from 1981 to 1996.

The report says TMZ learned from the San Francisco Fire Department that units responded after an emergency was reported at the hotel at 2:52 a.m. Paramedics conducted an assessment and pronounced the subject dead on the scene.

The scene was then turned over to the San Francisco Police Department and the Medical Examiner’s Office. The outlet says the police told them, “At approximately 3:14 AM, officers responded to the hotel regarding a report of a deceased person. At the scene, officers met with paramedics, who declared the adult female deceased.”

A cause of death has not yet been determined, and no additional details have emerged, per the report.

In 2003, she made an appearance in the hit CW drama “One Tree Hill.”

In a 2014 Interview magazine feature, Tommy Lee Jones talked about how the women in his life, including Victoria, inspired his interest in the female gaze.

The icon told the magazine, “Well, my grandmother, my mother, my wife, and my daughter are all women. A lot of my dear friends, yourself included, are women. I am just interested in how they feel, and what’s wrong. And if you want to know what’s wrong today, looking at what was wrong yesterday is a pretty good place to start. There’s an undeniable tradition of sexism in this country that ties into the move westward by people of European descent, and different ways of looking at Manifest Destiny on the west side of the Mississippi River.”

One of the biggest achievements of Jones’ storied career was when he won the Academy Award for ‘Best Actor’ in 1994 after his impressive performance in “The Fugitive.” In the movie, he portrayed a ruthless U.S. Marshall who hunts Harrison Ford’s character, Richard Kimble. He notably beat out a then-19-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio, who was nominated for his performance in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?”

While accepting his award, Jones joked, “The only thing a man can say at a time like this is, I am not really bald.” He then quipped, “Actually, I’m lucky enough to be working,” before thanking the head of Warner Bros., Bob Daly.
