Brynn Whitfield gave an update on where she stands with her “Real Housewives of New York City” castmates. Following an explosive finale fight that had Whitfield exiting a cast trip to Puerto Rico early, she expressed hope that the broken cast will be able to come together in the future.
Speaking with Rolling Stone in an interview published on January 22, Whitfield said it will take time to repair the relationships, but she thinks it can be done.
“I’m always cool with Jenna [Lyons] and Raquel [Chevremont],” Whitfield shared. “Erin [Lichy] feels like a sister. I was just texting with her and [her husband] Abe the other day, I feel like I’m fine with them.”
She added, “I think Sai [De Silva] and I still have stuff to work on. I miss my friendship with Sai a lot. And then with Jessel [Taank] I didn’t realize, but I should have realized, I said something that upset her, so I need to work on my friendship with Jessel. With Ubah [Hassan], I think what’s done is done. Ubah’s a great person. She has a heart of gold. I think she loses her temper, but she has the most beautiful heart and at the end of the day I know I’m also a good person, so I feel like we will get back. But it takes time to repair.”
Brynn Whitfield Says She Felt Better After the Reunion
BravoOn the January 14 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Bravo host Andy Cohen warned viewers that the RHONY season 15 finale was “very dark.”
The finale took an upsetting turn after Whitfield accused Hassan of saying she slept with someone to get cast on the Bravo reality show. Whitfield became upset as she alleged to the other women that she had confided in Hassan about her past experience with sexual assault. Hassan denied ever knowing about Whitfield’s past. The argument became so intense that production had to step in and separate the women. A flight out of Puerto Rico was promptly booked for Whitfield.
After Whitfield left the premises, the rest of the cast questioned if she had lied about the story.
Whitfield told Rolling Stone it was difficult to rewatch the finale amid the “shocking” allegations that she lied. She also reiterated, as she said on the show, that it was possible that Hassan had not heard her when she told her about her past during an emotional phone conversation about a friend’s sudden death.
“Directly after Puerto Rico, I wish that someone would’ve asked me, ‘Hey, let’s calmly sit down and listen to what you have to say.’ That would have felt really nice, I think, to have that,” she added. “I did feel better after the reunion to clear the air on these things. …After the reunion, I personally felt like — are we in a position where everything is fixed and perfect? No, not remotely. But at least we’re now, maybe hopefully at step one.”
Jenna Lyons Claimed No One Talked to Brynn Since the Reunion
BravoWhitfield’s co-star Lyons appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” after the finale aired on Bravo.
When asked if the cast, and Hassan in particular, had been in touch with Whitfield since the reunion taping, she replied, “I think that’s a no and no.”
She also admitted that the rest of the cast felt “frustrated” going into the reunion.
Lichy responded to Whitfield’s interview in a comment reposted by @queensofBravo. Lichy said Whitfield’s description of them as “sisters” was “quite the reach” and confirmed they haven’t seen each other spoken in months. She added that she had really hoped to see Whitfield shine on RHONY.
“I still follow her and I still see her stories. I can be cordial. I’m not 12,” Lichy added when a fan questioned why she commented on one of Whitfield’s recent Instagram posts.
