Jen Shah has something to say about Heather Gay’s infamous black eye. And after nearly four years of questions, accusations and conflicting accounts, the former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star is hinting that she’s ready to speak.

Shah, who has repeatedly denied responsibility for Gay’s injury, resurfaced in the conversation on Friday, Oct. 16, after Meredith Marks publicly criticized the way Gay handled the incident.

Rather than letting her former castmate’s comments pass, Shah shared them on social media and suggested she has some unfinished business of her own.

For longtime RHOSLC viewers, it’s a surprising development in a storyline that has followed the franchise well beyond the season in which it began.

Jen Shah Says She Has ‘a Few Things to Clear Up’ About Heather Gay’s Black Eye

The latest exchange began with Marks’ appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” where she called out Gay for “lying about a black eye for two years.”

Shah wasted little time reacting.

On X, the former Housewife shared footage of Marks’ remarks alongside an enthusiastic message.

“MEREDITH!!! 😂👏❤️” Shah wrote.

Then came the part that really got people’s attention.

“Soooo… is it finally time to talk about that black eye? 👀☕”

Shah followed up with another statement: “I’ve got a few things to clear up. 💯”

She didn’t elaborate, leaving viewers to wonder exactly what she believes still needs to be addressed.

That’s an important distinction. Shah has not offered a new account of the incident or presented additional information contradicting Gay’s version of events. For now, she’s simply signaling that she may have more to say.

But considering how much attention the black eye received during its original run on Bravo, even the suggestion of another explanation is enough to revive interest.

The RHOSLC Black Eye Controversy Has Never Completely Gone Away

The incident first unfolded during Season 3, when Gay woke up with a black eye during a cast trip to San Diego.

What should have been a straightforward explanation turned into a mystery that stretched across multiple seasons.

Gay initially maintained that she couldn’t remember what had happened. Her reluctance to discuss the injury only fueled speculation, particularly as viewers tried to piece together the events of the previous night.

It wasn’t until the Season 4 finale in January 2024 that Gay publicly identified Shah as the person responsible.

During the cast’s trip to Bermuda, Gay also acknowledged protecting Shah, explaining that she had been afraid of her.

Shah, who was incarcerated at the time, denied the allegation through her representatives.

The controversy has remained a point of contention, and recent comments from people associated with the franchise have brought it back into focus.

Earlier this month, former Bravo producer Patrick McDonald criticized Gay’s handling of the situation during an appearance on the Bravo While Black podcast.

“That is one of the most reckless things that any housewife has ever done,” he said, expressing frustration that speculation about the injury had extended to members of the production team.

His remarks, followed by Marks’ comments on “Watch What Happens Live,” have put the years-old storyline back in the spotlight.

Could Jen Shah Finally Share Her Side of the Story?

Shah’s latest post comes at an interesting point for the franchise.

The former Housewife has been out of prison since December 2025, while RHOSLC is currently airing its seventh season.

Gay and Marks remain part of the cast, meaning the disagreement over how the black eye was handled is no longer confined to former Housewives looking back on their time together.

And while Shah’s post certainly invites speculation, it doesn’t necessarily mean a detailed explanation is coming.

She hasn’t announced an interview, promised to release evidence or said when she intends to address the matter further.

What she has done is make it clear that she’s following the conversation and wants viewers to know she hasn’t said everything she wants to say.

After years of debate over what happened that night in San Diego, Shah has once again put herself at the center of the discussion.

Now the question is whether she’ll follow through.
