In an exclusive statement to People, Burruss explained her decision.

“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” Burruss said. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”

She added, “I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”

Burruss, 49, and Tucker, 52, met in 2011 while filming season 4 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” They married in 2014 and share two children—Ace, 9, and Blaze, 5—along with older children, Riley, 23, and Kaela, 29.

Their prenuptial agreement briefly became a storyline on Burruss’ wedding special, where the pair disagreed over terms. Tucker questioned clauses involving finances and living arrangements, while Burruss insisted on protecting her assets. Despite tension, they moved forward with the wedding and remained together for more than a decade.

Burruss joined season 2 of RHOA in 2009 and remained through 2024, becoming the franchise’s longest-running cast member. At her peak, she earned $450,000 per season.
