Margaret Josephs is opening up about her final season on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” — and revealing why she now believes returning to the Bravo series was ultimately the wrong decision for her.
During a recent appearance on the “Shut Up! Tell Me More” podcast with Pat Comiter, Josephs reflected on the emotional toll of filming the franchise’s most recent season and admitted she wishes she had listened to her instincts sooner.
“I made a mistake going back my last season. I was told I wouldn’t have to be around him which I wasn’t. They were still spewing all of me and wished me suffering on my family, on my son, on myself,” Margaret said. Margaret was referring to Teresa Giudice and her husband Louie Ruelas.
The longtime Bravo personality explained that while she initially believed she could handle returning to the show, the environment surrounding the series had become far more emotionally draining than expected.
“I made a decision with my family. They said you can not go back to that if it’s that environment. I said it, I stuck to it and I meant it,” Margaret added.
Margaret Josephs Became One of RHONJ’s Biggest Personalities
Josephs joined “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” ahead of the Season 8 and quickly established herself as one of the franchise’s most outspoken and memorable cast members.
Known for her quick wit, direct personality, and sharp one-liners, Josephs frequently found herself at the center of many of the show’s biggest storylines over the years.
Her relationships with several cast members became increasingly complicated as tensions within the group intensified during recent seasons, particularly amid growing divisions between different alliances on the show.
The latest season of RHONJ became one of the most polarizing in the franchise’s history, with cast conflicts continuing both on-camera and across social media long after filming wrapped.
By the end of the season, several cast members reportedly refused to film together, fueling ongoing speculation about the future direction of the series and whether Bravo could successfully move forward with the existing cast dynamic.
Josephs remained deeply involved in many of the season’s most talked-about moments, making her recent comments especially notable for longtime viewers.
RHONJ Season 15 Is Already Moving Forward
Josephs’ latest interview also arrives as “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” moves ahead with Season 15 following the franchise’s extended hiatus after Season 14.
The new season is currently filming with a significantly reworked cast and a softer reboot approach after months of speculation surrounding the future of the series.
Reports about the new lineup have generated major conversation among Bravo fans, particularly because several longtime cast members — including Josephs — are not expected to return for the new era of RHONJ.
Josephs had become one of the franchise’s defining personalities during her run on the show, frequently landing at the center of many of the series’ biggest storylines and cast conflicts.
Despite the difficult experience she described during her recent podcast appearance, many fans still consider Josephs one of RHONJ’s most memorable modern-era Housewives because of her humor, unpredictability, and willingness to confront conflict directly.
But based on her latest comments, it appears Josephs feels confident in the decision she ultimately made for herself and her family.
