Porsha Williams is opening up about her new relationship — and the way she describes it feels like a clear shift.
During a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star offered a candid update on where things stand with Atlanta entrepreneur Patrice ‘Sway’ McKinney.
“She lets me be me. We celebrate each other. We support each other. It’s just great,” Williams said. “I love her.”
A More Grounded, Private Love Story
The moment stood out not because it was dramatic — but because it wasn’t.
For longtime viewers of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Williams’ relationship history has often played out in the spotlight — and on the show. This time, the tone is different: more grounded, more intentional, and noticeably more private.
Williams first went public with McKinney in late 2025, calling the relationship a “truth” she wanted to share. Around that time, she also revealed she had been “talking” to both a man and a woman before ultimately choosing to pursue something deeper with McKinney — a decision she framed as simply doing “what feels natural.”
Since then, the two have kept much of their relationship off-camera, though glimpses have surfaced — including time spent together with family over the holidays and a heartfelt birthday message Williams shared publicly.
‘It’s Just a Date Night… I’m Dating’
Fans are also beginning to see the relationship unfold on-screen.
In a preview for Season 17 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Williams introduces McKinney — whom she calls her “lady friend” — to cast members at an event. When asked about their dynamic, she keeps it simple: “It’s just a date night. I’m dating.”
The moment adds context to her WWHL comments, reinforcing that while the relationship is meaningful, she’s approaching it at her own pace — and on her own terms.
Williams also addressed public conversation around her dating life more broadly, acknowledging that speculation isn’t new for her.
“People had a lot to say about me being with women in the past,” she said in a confessional during the season. “It’s like, literally the worst kept secret.”
A Confident New Era for Porsha
The timing of Williams’ comments comes as anticipation builds for the new season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” where she returns as a central figure.
Between her evolving personal life and her reentry into the group dynamic, the season is shaping up to highlight a different version of Williams — one that feels more self-assured, open, and grounded.
And if her latest comments are any indication, that confidence is coming from a place that feels genuinely supportive.
