TV Co-Host Announces Star Is In Labor Right Now

Baby boy is on his way! Whoopi Goldberg announced at the beginning of the Tuesday, February 10, episode of “The View” that co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin is in labor.

The exciting news comes one day after Griffin told executive producer Brian Teta, “I am feeling ready to have a baby.”

“I’m definitely in that period where it’s like it could happen at any time. We’ve got a plan. My in-laws get in, they get in tomorrow,” she revealed during a Monday, February 9, appearance on the “Behind the Table” podcast. “They might need to get here sooner to watch the dogs, but I’m ready.”

Tuesday’s episode was scheduled to be Griffin’s last before maternity leave.

“This was my last weekend of my life not having children, which was such an interesting thought,” she told Teta. “I thought I might have a little bit of like, ‘Oh, am I going to miss this?’ No, I’m just so excited. I can’t wait to see him and smell him and just have him here.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin Announced Her Pregnancy

Griffin first announced that she is expecting her first child on air in October.

As the women were going around the table sharing their most embarrassing moments, Griffin chimed in with a “viral moment” from 2023.

In the clip, Goldberg abruptly stops mid-sentence to ask Griffin if she is pregnant.

A visibly shocked Griffin responds, “No! Oh my God. You can’t say that when my mother-in-law is here.”

As the clip ended, Griffin rubbed her belly and smirked.

“So Whoopi, do you want to ask me again?”

The crowd went wild as the co-hosts jumped up into a group hug with Griffin in the center.

Griffin Waited Months to Announce Her Pregnancy

“The View” host later revealed why she and husband Justin Griffin decided to wait more than four months to reveal her exciting news.

“The other side of dealing with infertility is then it’s still a waiting game. So I think a lot of ‘The View’ audience every day, they’re tweeting like milk bottles at me. They have an idea I’m pregnant,” she told People in October. “But the only reason I haven’t shared to this point is it was important to us to get through the 20 week appointment, which is the full anatomy, making sure everything’s developing right because you’re just higher risk, both with my age and with the infertility issues I’ve dealt with and [am] dealing with.”
