‘Young & the Restless’ Courtney Hope Joins Soap Vet & Sitcom Icon for Career First

Beloved “The Young and the Restless” star Courtney Hope (Sally) has taken on a new venture that marks a career first for the actress. Hope teamed up with a soap vet and sitcom queen for a project close to her heart.

Courtney Hope Lands New Gig with Guiding Light Alum

“The Bold and the Beautiful” alum has been taped to play Mary, the mother of Jesus, in Faith Podcast Network’s “The Christ”, a four-part audio series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is being dubbed as “the first ever full-scale audio dramatization of Jesus’ life across four immersive episodes using cinematic-quality sound, music, and performances.”

Hope isn’t the only soap star set to appear in the project. Former “Guiding Light” star Tom Pelphrey will play Jesus Christ. The cast also features some major Hollywood star power. “The Hangover” fan favorite Paul Walter Hauser plays John the Baptist, and “The Butler” star David Oyelowo plays Pontius Pilot.

“Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle” actress Patricia Heaton serves as the host of the series, while “Raiders of the Lost Ark actor John Rhys-Davies will narrate “The Christ”.

“The Christ” series will be released during Holly Week leading into Easter weekend. The first episode drops on Monday, March 30, with a new episode dropping daily, so the entire series will be available on Friday, April 3, Good Friday.

What’s Next for Courtney Hope On ‘The Young and the Restless’?

Hope may be branching out to other career avenues, but the actress isn’t letting go of her day job.

2026 marks nine years that Hope has been playing Sally Spectra, with the character debuting on “The Bold and the Beautiful” in 2017. Three years later Hope and Sally moved over to “The Young and the Restless” where the character has been busier than ever.

Sally’s love life with Billy (Jason Thompson) has been taking center stage on the CBS soap. She took Billy back again, despite his constant bad decisions, keeping her in the dark, and making bad decisions daily. However, Billy managed to charm his way back into Sally’s good graces, and she’s giving him another chance.

Their happiness may be short-lived, though. Spoilers for the CBS soap tease that Billy’s life gets more intense because of Jack’s (Peter Bergman) kidnapping, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and Victor (Eric Braeden).

Billy’s focus will once again not be on Sally, leaving her to navigate her own new business with Audra (Zuleyka Silver). Jack should take precedence, but with Audra pointing out Billy’s many flaws all the time, the reunion between Sally and Billy might not last.
