Kelly Ripa took fans behind-the-scenes of her Oscars pre-show prep, revealing all the hard work that went into transforming her from everyday look to ultimate glam for Hollywood’s biggest night.
The “Live with Kelly & Mark” host shared all her secrets to how she achieved her stunning hairstyle and makeup glow. Additionally, there were rare shots of the village of people it took to create the look that turned the entertainer into a walking Oscar statuette.
Kelly Ripa Spilled All Her Pre-Show Prep Secrets
In an Instagram reel, Kelly Ripa showed that she couldn’t get glam ready alone. Her squad of trusted makeup artists, hairstylists, and wardrobe assistants helped to create her glowing 2026 Oscar look.
Ripa began the video by displaying the jewelry loaned to her for the annual Hollywood event. Sparkling diamond and precious gemstone rings, as well as stunning diamond earrings, were on loan to the former “All My Children” star.
A makeup artist and hairstylist worked in tandem to get Ripa red carpet-ready. Several sets of clip-in extensions were used in her tresses to plump up their volume to give her an effortless, tousled look. “This is a lot of fake hair, even for me,” Ripa quipped.
Following, a makeup artist glued false eyelashes to Ripa’s eyelids to make her eyes appear bigger and brighter. After her makeup was applied, the look was finished with a touch of setting spray and lipstick.
Ripa then stepped into her glittering gold Christian Siriano dress featuring a squared-off top. She joked that the gown’s original neckline was much higher, and gave an “eyes peering out” effect. Plus, Ripa added she could have kept “snacks” in there throughout the evening.
The talk show host concluded that nothing went to waste when constructing the glam look. A coordinating purse was fashioned from the bottom of her dress.
How Did Mark Consuelos React to Seeing Kelly Ripa’s Glam Oscar Look?
At the tail end of Kelly Ripa’s Instagram upload, Mark Consuelos walked into the couple’s hotel room. His first response to seeing his wife of 29 years in her complete outfit? “Wow!”
Likewise, she told her husband, who wore a black velvet suit jacket, black pants, bow tie, and patent leather dress shoes, “You look amazing.” The couple then posed for a series of shots together which ended the video clip.
Ripa and Consuelos attended the awards ceremony, talking to winners in the backstage area. On March 16, they hosted their annual “Live After Oscar Show,” held at the Dolby Theatre hours after the industry event wrapped.
Furthermore, Ripa said that attending the awards ceremony was “the calm before the storm.” Consuelos added that “it’s intense.”
