The Young and the Restless: Phyllis Gets Shocking New Job after Losing Newman?

Many in The Young and the Restless fandom cheered when Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) outsmarted The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and stole his crown jewel, Newman Enterprises. Let’s face it, The Mustache was doing a lot of dirty work around Genoa City over the last couple of years and needed to be humbled a bit.

For example, his quest to destroy Jack (Peter Bergman) has reached a fever pitch ever since the Jabot CEO spent the night with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) at the Athletic Club, recklessly trying to get her to stop drinking. Victor has gone out of his way to destroy Jack, planning to strip the Abbott patriarch of both his business and his wife. While he ultimately proved unsuccessful in crushing Jabot, Victor’s scheming with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) has left Jack’s marriage to Diane (Susan Walters) hanging by a thread.

Then there’s the whole Chancellor thing. In a quest to gift Nikki the company of her late best friend, Katherine (Jeanne Cooper), he essentially bullied Billy (Jason Thompson) and betrayed Lily (Christel Khalil). So again, Victor probably deserved to take a loss.

As the saying goes, “All things come to an end.” The walls are closing in on Phyllis. Thanks to Victor, Phyllis is in the crosshairs of Christine (Lauralee Bell) and heading toward a criminal trial for illegally acquiring Newman. Even if Phyllis were able to beat the charges, longtime fans of The Young and the Restless know Victor will never stop until he gets what he built up from the ground up. And Phyllis was sadly mistaken if she thought helping to save Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) life after his drug overdose would earn her some goodwill with the Newman patriarch.

Also, let’s be honest, the sooner Victor gets his company back, the better. Isn’t it about time we really focus on the summer storylines? With that being said, when Victor is back in charge of his business, where does that leave Phyllis? She’ll be in need of a job. Thankfully, a surprise position may wait in the wings.

Is Phyllis’ Next Job Working with Sharon?

In true soapy fashion, it’s likely a plot twist awaits Phyllis on the career front. It would be nice if the twist is that she lands on her feet with a great position. She has a laundry list of flaws, but she is a smart and business-savvy woman with executive-level experience. So where might she end up? Enter, Cassidy First Technology.

Sharon (Sharon Case) hasn’t mentioned it lately, but she still owns and runs Cassidy First Technology. However, there’s no way the company is reaching its full potential, given all the distractions Sharon and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) have experienced over the last two years. Heck, Mariah is in no shape even to lend a hand with the business at this point. So, Phyllis working with Sharon would be a huge help, especially given her tech background.

It’s also worth pointing out that after enduring their kidnapping together, Phyllis and Sharon have become almost friends. Their bad blood is gone, so their being around each other shouldn’t present so much of an issue. Should The Young and the Restless viewers be anticipating a Phyllis/Sharon duo?
