“The Young and the Restless” stars Michael Muhney (former Adam Newman) and Eric Braeden (Eric Newman) finally buried the hatchet after years of feuding.
Muhney, who portrayed Adam from 2009-2014, confirmed on X that he and his former co-star have officially reconciled.
“Much like Jerry Jones & Jimmy Johnson…Eric Braeden and I fell apart,” the actor wrote. “And much like Mr. Jones and Mr. Johnson, it took a very long time, but Eric and I have made up and shared our love and admiration for one another. Eric didn’t have to forgive me for our conflicts, but he did.”
In a follow-up post, Muhney expressed his admiration for Braeden, calling him the best scene partner he has ever had.
“If we hadn’t fallen apart way back when, who knows how far we could’ve gone together?” Muhney added. “I do so greatly admire him and I am impressed by his grace and class. He will always remain the single best scene partner I have ever had in my entire career. Hands down.”
The actor ended his lengthy message admitting he “feels good to heal from this.”
“I’ve needed this more than I realized.”
‘The Young & the Restless’ Stars Michael Muhney & Eric Braeden’s Feud
In January 2014, Braeden told Radar Online that he welcomed Muhney when he first joined “The Young and the Restless.” However, towards the end, they started having issues.
“I welcomed Michael Muhney when he came here. He is a great actor. We did have our differences, but for anyone to say that I had him fired is a lie,” Braeden told the outlet at the time. “I have always thought he was a very good actor and told him so.”
The veteran soap star added that things eventually grew into shouting matches, with Muhney allegedly trying to get Braeden kicked off the show.
“It was a campaign to get me off the show. It was Muhney who wanted to get me off the show and he expressed that to various people,” Braeden told the outlet. “In his words, I was the old lion and he was the young lion. He wanted to push aside the old lion. That was in his words to me, at the very end.”
Muhney acknowledged that he’s the one to blame. In an interview with the Huffington Post in December 2013, the actor admitted that he’s been “too outspoken” sometimes.
Fans React to Muhney and Braeden Reconciliation

Someone added, “It’s too bad this happened because they have not been able to replace you. You were the best Adam by far.”
