Lexi & Angela Murray Share Unseen Train Drama From Their ‘The Amazing Race’ Elimination

Angela and Lexi Murray are opening up about everything fans didn’t see during their “The Amazing Race” season 38 journey, and it all starts with a wild train mishap for the “Big Brother” team. The mother-daughter duo, who were eliminated after a grueling leg in Europe, shared the behind-the-scenes chaos of canceled trains, exhausting travel, and the high-stakes footrace that left them fighting for survival alongside fellow contestants Meghan and Matt.

Canceled Train on ‘The Amazing Race’ 2025

While everyone watching last night’s episode of “The Amazing Race” knows, there were definitely some issues for every team while trying to take a train ride to Prague. There were missed trains, wrong stations, and just mass chaos for all of the teams while traveling to Prague.

However, Angela & Lexi talked with Parade and gave some behind-the-scenes details about the train situation. In last night’s episode, the duo arrived in Frankfurt with two other teams: Kyland & Taylor and Kat & Alex.

The trio of teams thought they were in a good spot, as they were supposed to arrive in Prague at the same time as the eight teams ahead of them. However, that all fell apart once their train was canceled, but there were things CBS didn’t show us.

Lexi told Parade, “It’s freezing cold. We both had that thin puffer. We’re dead tired. It’s been 24 hours since we had slept during that halfway point. And we thought we were getting there with an advantage, because they said, ‘You guys will be getting there when the first teams arrived.’ We’re like, “Yes, let’s go!” That train that there was an advantage disappeared. It just was like, poof!”

Angela said it was “nowhere.” Lexi added, “Oh, sorry, we’re not showing up to pick you guys up. You guys aren’t getting to Prague. No, no, no. You guys are spending the night now in that train station… now we’re exhausted. We haven’t slept a blink. And we took eight different trains to even get to Prague from Frankfurt once we finally got a new ticket. And so once we arrived in Prague, it was mentally so exhausting.”

Footrace to the Pit Stop on ‘The Amazing Race’

Because of the derailment in Frankfurt, Matt & Meghan were able to catch up to the three teams. That meant it was a battle between these four teams to see who would not get to host Phil Keoghan last.

It ended up being Angela & Lexi and Matt & Meghan at the Detour on “The Amazing Race” 2025, the final two teams there. While they needed to fight to stay in the competition, they decided to work together on that Detour challenge.

Angela said, “We decided they would take half and we would take half. And we did work together. And we worked together well.”

It ended up being a footrace to the Pit Stop, and they fell short, so do Angela & Lexi regret anything?

Angela said, “I just found like, this is something we needed to do. I didn’t think further outside of that, that it was going to be a foot race, because you never know what the next thing is. It could have been a clue with a taxi. They could have gotten lost. We could have gotten lost. It really was anybody’s game in our heads at that point.”

During that footrace, Lexi said things got emotional, “During those train rides and the subways and just going through everything, we bonded a lot with them. And they are such genuine people.”

Angela added, “Hearts of gold… Overall, I think our bond with Meghan and Matt was truly something we’ll take away from this race.”

“The Amazing Race” season 38 airs on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
