Fans first met Hakeem Moulton on Jenn Tran’s season of “The Bachelorette.” Moulton ultimately went home in Week 3, but he instantly became a fan-favorite and landed a coveted invite to the beach on “Bachelor in Paradise” season 10.
Unfortunately, Moulton’s appearance on the spinoff would also be short-lived, but he’s since found love outside of Bachelor Nation. Moulton and his girlfriend, Monica Marie, hard-launched their relationship in December 2025, with the couple recently announcing they are expecting their first child! And, no, Moulton made sure to let fans know that it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.

Congrats are in order for “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” alum Hakeem Moulton and his girlfriend, Monica Marie, who announced in a joint Instagram post that they’re expecting a baby.
On April 1, the couple shared a sweet video showing Moulton hugging Marie from behind as the two stood in front of a bathroom mirror with Moulton holding a positive pregnancy test.
Then, the video cuts to the couple surprising several Bachelor Nation stars on FaceTime, including recent “The Bachelor” Grant Ellis, who looks stunned as Marie holds up her sonogram. They also FaceTime Jonathon Johnson, Austin Ott, and Brandon Jones, all of whom look shocked and happy for the couple.
Moulton also appears to be good friends with “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Jordan Ngatikaura, with whom the couple also FaceTimed with the news. Ngatikaura was seen tearing up over the couple’s sweet announcement.
The couple also wanted to make it clear that they were not pranking family and fans, as the announcement happened to land on April Fool’s Day. Their caption read, “April fools or nah…? Baby coming October 2026 💙🩷.”
Moulton Shares His Future Plans With His Girlfriend, Including an Engagement Soon
It’s unclear when Moulton and Marie began dating, but Bachelor Nation reported that the former “The Bachelorette” contestant hard-launched his relationship in December 2025. Just a month later, while speaking on the “Bachelor Happy Hour’s Golden Hour” podcast, Moulton revealed that he’s already planning for a proposal.
“I absolutely do wanna marry her, and I will propose,” he said. He then shared with hosts Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts that he already knows Marie’s ring size, adding, “I have that in my phone.”
Sharing more insight into his relationship with Marie, Moluton told the hosts that he had initially met Marie on a dating app and reconnected years later.
“…Every moment with her… it means so much to me, right? Because that time that I’m with her, spending time, quality time… it means so much to me,” he shared.
He continued, “Also, the effort behind things means so much to me. So, if you’re going into a relationship and like you’re giving half-[expletive] or you’re not showing your cards because you’re scared and all that… that’s the [expletive] that’s, like, never gonna get you anywhere.”
“So coming in guns blazing, that’s my type of love. I’m trying to find my person. I want to get married,” he added.
