A decade after her memorable run on “The Voice,” fans are launching Grimmie Fest, a brand-new music festival built around Christina Grimmie‘s enduring spirit. The event will be a posthumous celebration of her sound, her lasting legacy and the foundation carrying her impact forward.
‘The Voice’ Star’s Supporters Announce Three-Day Grimmie Fest Celebration
The newly announced event will take place from June 5 through June 7. It is designed as a weekend filled with music, connection and joyful remembrance. According to Parade, Grimmie Fest will invite supporters to “celebrate Christina’s life with music, community, and joyful festivities.” The festival will give longtime listeners and new followers alike a space to gather and honor the singer’s lasting impact. A teaser for Grimmie Fest was shared on her official YouTube channel. It gave subscribers a first look at what promises to be a music-filled, community-driven weekend.
In 2016, a tragic incident at a post-concert meet-and-greet in Orlando ended her promising career far too soon, sparking a wave of tributes across the music world. The Christina Grimmie Foundation, started by her family, continues to support families affected by gun violence. To date, the foundation says it has distributed nearly $600,000 in Green Heart Grants to almost 300 families, helping cover funeral and memorial expenses as well as everyday living costs.
While the exact location of the festival has not been revealed, organizers have already launched several interactive ways for her community to get involved. A newsletter sign-up, dubbed “Fest Quests,” promises updates and special announcements, while a “10 for Ten” fundraising campaign aims to raise $100,000 for the nonprofit.
From ‘The Voice’ Finalist to Enduring Music Inspiration
Grimmie first became a breakout star during Season 6 of “The Voice”. Her powerhouse vocals, piano skills and rock-pop edge quickly made her a standout. She was already popular on YouTube for her covers, so she brought a built-in fan base to the show. She won over millions more with emotional performances that regularly went viral and ultimately finished the season as a finalist.
Although her promising career was cut short, memories of her warmth have continued to surface. During a recent appearance on the YouTube series “Last Meals,” Victoria Justice reflected on their friendship. “I remember when I met Christina. She was just the sweetest girl ever,” she said.
Today, that same spirit continues through Grimmie Fest and the foundation created in her name. Through live performances, fundraising efforts and the promise of new songs, supporters are ensuring Christina Grimmie’s voice keeps inspiring people for years to come.
Future attendees are also buzzing about new music. On Feb. 5, Grimmie’s team announced on her official Instagram that they will release the singer’s previously recorded song, “Eyes of Your Storm,” on Feb. 13.
