Kathy Griffin is turning heads online after unveiling a surprising new look that left many fans doing a double take.
The comedian, long known for her signature bright red hair, revealed a dramatic transformation in a Monday, March 17, Instagram post.
Griffin’s New Look
Instead of the fiery shade she’s worn for much of her career, Griffin debuted a completely different hairstyle — a sleek blonde look complete with bangs.
The 65-year-old shared a series of photos on social media showing off the striking change.
In the first image, Griffin posed playfully for the camera with her finger resting near her mouth, showing off the new hair color.
She wore a black long-sleeve shirt featuring a graphic design and a casual pair of blue jeans.
Her bright blonde hair framed her face and fell smoothly around her shoulders, marking a noticeable departure from the red curls fans have long associated with the comedian.
In another photo from the set, Griffin smiled while glancing to the side with her hands raised near her face.
The final image showed the star confidently posing with her hands on her hips while looking directly into the camera, fully embracing the bold new style.
Griffin teased the transformation in the caption accompanying the post, writing simply, “And you guys thought you knew me…”
Griffin Often Changes Her Appearance
Griffin changing her hair is nothing new, as the star frequently alters her appearance.
She revealed back in August 2025 that she was planning on having her third facelift.
“It’s my third. I know that’s so vain! I’m so vain for no reason. No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face,” she joked.
While she enjoys having the occasional plastic surgery procedures, she noted how the recovery process is difficult.
“I’m going to be honest. It’s painful. So these [explicative] that are like, ‘It’s like getting a tooth filled! It’s nothing!’ No, it’s painful,” Griffin added.
Fans Couldn’t Get Enough
The playful message quickly sparked conversation among fans, many of whom were shocked by how different the comedian looked with the lighter hair color.

Others compared her to Barbie while others said she looked like Hannah Montana with the new hair.
