Lady Gaga fans have been speculating that the singer and actress would release a new song ahead of her appearance in “Wednesday” season two. Now, she has done just that while expressing her admiration for Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton.
Gaga made an appearance at the Wednesday Graveyard Gala on August 28. While there, she discussed her role on season two of the hit Netflix series and also teased her new song.
The “American Horror Story: Hotel” star began, “I came from the Mayhem Ball to say hello.” Notably, Gaga is currently on the road with her sold-out tour.
She continued, “I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday season two. Even just being a small part of the show. I loved working with Tim Burton and Jenna, and everyone here is so incredible.”
Gaga went on, “I’m also here to confirm that my song, ‘The Dead Dance,’ is coming out.” The fans in the crowd cheered as she announced the song after several weeks of speculation. It has previously been reported that Burton directed the accompanying music video.
What We Know about Gaga’s New Song, ‘The Dead Dance’
Of course, not much is known about Gaga’s “The Dead Dance.” However, the beloved singer and actress confirmed, while speaking at the event, that it would be released on September 3, meaning fans don’t have long to wait. She also stated that it’s in support of “Wednesday” season two.
Additionally, those who were in attendance at the gala were treated to an advance listen of the song. As mentioned, fans have widely speculated that Burton served as the director for the song’s music video. Notably, he previously discussed having worked with her on a separate project.
Burton told Variety, “She’s such an artist, and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational. But I felt that way about Joanna and Steve, who I’ve worked with before.” He continued, “These people come on this set, you see the whole crew kind of light up. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.”
The famed director then said he’d “done something else with her.” He also stated that he hopes to work with the “Garden of Eden” singer again.
She Appears in Part Two of the Second Season of ‘Wednesday’
Netflix released part one of Wednesday season 2 on August 6. The streamer will unveil the second part of the season on September 3, with Gaga set to make an appearance. Initially, Netflix reported that she would play Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary teacher from the school.
However, Ortega recently stated that this was not the case as Gaga would not be playing one of Nevermore’s teachers. It’s also unclear how much she will be in the show.
