Actress Shannon Elizabeth, 52, most famous for her role as Nadia in “American Pie,” has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, South African NGO executive and conservationist Simon Borchert.
According to People, a source revealed that Shannon divorced her husband “in the last few days” and the separation is “rather fresh.”

GettyThe source also shared that Shannon, who recently joined the subscription-based adult site OnlyFans, wants to enjoy her freedom as a single woman, telling People, “Now that she is single, she wants to have a bit more freedom and be wild.”
Shannon and Simon married in 2021 after meeting in 2015. While their relationship has been kept fairly private, the former couple dedicated most of their time together by staying involved with Shannon’s eponymous foundation in support of animals, according to WBFF News.
She and Borchert do not share any children. Shannon also does not have children from previous relationships despite her former marriage to actor Joseph D. Reitman from 2002 to 2006.
Amid news of her divorce, Shannon shared a reflective Facebook post on Wednesday, April 15, about resetting her life, seemingly hinting at new beginnings as she navigates being single.
“There’s something about the ocean that resets everything — slows the noise, softens the edges, and brings you right back to what matters,” the actress wrote. “Grateful for these quiet moments, sandy paws, and unconditional love.”
Shannon also changed her relationship status on her Facebook from married to single.

Despite Shannon’s decision to join OnlyFans after divorcing her husband, she opened up to Entertainment Weekly in a previous interview about her role as Nadia in the classic 1999 rom-com. In the film, Shannon’s character was the drop-dead gorgeous bombshell whom Jason Biggs’ character, Jim, was obsessed with until he met Alyson Hannigan’s character, Michelle.
Although she was known for playing a provocative role, Shannon told EW that she isn’t a big fan of being nude. “For me, it was a role, it was playing a character,” the actress shared. “But even in my real life, I’m just not the girl who likes to be naked, ever.”
“Even at home I’m always covered up,” she added. “Like I have friends that sleep in the nude, and they don’t mind walking around that way. That was never me, but because that was kind of my coming out, everyone assumed I was that girl.”
