Melissa Gilbert is returning to “When Calls the Heart” in the coming season to reprise the role of Georgie McGill. As Hallmark fans wait for season 13 to premiere in January 2026, Gilbert took to social media to gush over her leading man, Jack Wagner.
Melissa Gilbert Saw Jack Wagner’s Song Popping up as a Sign of a Good Day
As “When Calls the Heart” fans know, Wagner plays the character of Bill Avery. When Gilbert first appeared in a few episodes of season 12, it was revealed that McGill and Avery had a past. Gilbert has confirmed she will be back in season 13 again, although it is not known how many episodes will include her character.
On November 18, Gilbert shared a screenshot in a new Instagram post. The photos showed that she was in her car and she had her SiriusXM radio tuned into “The Blend” channel. Wagner’s iconic song, “All I Need,” was playing as she snapped the shot.
In her caption, Gilbert wrote, “Ok, this is fun. I jumped in my car to go to yoga and this is what was playing in my @siriusxm!”
She continued, “Any day that starts with one’s leading man crooning is a good day!” She went on to tag several Instagram pages, including Wagner’s, the “When Calls the Heart” page, and the Hallmark Channel page.
Wagner released “All I Need” in March 1984, and he performed it on “General Hospital” as well. According to Pop Hits, it spent 22 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and peaked in the second spot.
“All I Need” was the lead single from Wagner’s debut album, also titled “All I Need.” In addition to performing well on the Top 100 Billboard chart, it also hit the top spot at one point on the Adult Contemporary chart.
Hallmark Fans Love Wagner As Much As Gilbert Does
Fans found Gilbert’s post and her adoration for Wagner to be very sweet.
One fan commented, “Oh my gosh, the memories this song produced!!”
Another wrote, “Omg!!! Love that song. My friend and I saw him in concert many years ago!”
“He signed my album at Christmas Con. He was so kind,” shared someone else.

This wasn’t the first time that Gilbert took to Instagram to gush over her co-star. In October, she wished him a happy birthday in another post. “He’s the Bill to my Georgie. My partner in crime….solving. I’m so lucky to get to work with him,” she wrote.
