When it comes to sizzling chemistry and show-stopping passion, few reality TV competitions deliver like “Dancing With the Stars.” Over the years, the ballroom has seen its fair share of flirting, romance rumors, and performances so steamy they left judges and viewers fanning themselves. We take a look back at five of the steamiest moments to ever heat up the “DWTS” dance floor.
1. Meryl Davis & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Freestyle
Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had amazing chemistry during their time together on season 18. There were even reports of a showmance, which they denied. However, Maks took full advantage of that buzz by choreographing a super sexy freestyle for the finals.
Davis shone in these types of dances, so the contemporary freestyle was right up her alley. The routine was equal parts elegant and sexy, but ended with a near-kiss, which was just the icing on the cake. The routine got a perfect score, and, of course, they went on to win season 18.
2. Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas – Argentine Tango
I mean, we couldn’t do this list and not include Mark Ballas on it, right? During season 22 he was partnered with UFC fighter Paige VanZant. Needless to say, the sexy dances didn’t come naturally to her.
However, she turned it up during the semifinals for this Argentine Tango. This was beyond sensual and they were definitely working the sexier side of things. VanZant also nailed the technical side of the dance, scoring a 29 out of 30 on this one.
3. Jana Kramer & Gleb Savchenko – Argentine Tango
Jana Kramer was in the middle of a divorce while she competed on season 23 of “Dancing With the Stars.” She was partnered with Gleb Savchenko, and fans noticed a very strong chemistry between the two.
Those rumors were put into overdrive when they performed an Argentine Tango during week 6. They had revealing outfits, sultry dance moves, and a shower head to end the routine. This was hot and sexy, and the rumors just intensified after this one.
4. Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke – Argentine Tango
Dance the Argentine Tango if you want to look sexy? Apparently, as this is the third one in this list. For this one, it was the routine between Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke.
This sensual routine between Burke and Marini earned them a perfect 30 score. He brought an intensity to the ballroom, which some thought made him super sexual, and others were annoyed.
Talk about intense competition! All of his dances were amazing, but his passionate Week 4 Argentine Tango stood out above the rest. He finished the season in second place.
5. Apolo Anton Ohno & Julianne Hough – Cha-Cha
We go all the way back to season 4 for this one, as it had Julianne Hough partnered with Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno. The couple turned up the heat with this Cha-Cha during the semifinals.
She was wearing a very revealing blue outfit. It was all about when they would come together, grinding on each other. They earned a 29 out of 30 for this routine and ended up being the winning couple for season 4.
