Rob Rausch is the breakout winner of “The Traitors” season 4, who took home $220,800 after a dramatic finale on Peacock. The 27-year-old reality star outlasted fellow finalists Maura Higgins, Mark Ballas, Tara Lipinski, and Johnny Weir to claim the prize in the Scottish Highlands. Before his strategic gameplay made him one of the franchise’s most talked-about champions, Rausch first gained fame on “Love Island USA.” Here’s what you need to know.
1. Rob Rausch Won ‘The Traitors’ Season 4 With Ruthless Strategy
Rausch entered the castle as one of the original Traitors alongside Lisa Rinna of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and Candiace Dillard Bassett of “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” Over the course of the season, he betrayed allies and outmaneuvered opponents to reach the final vote undetected.
His gameplay drew attention from viewers and commentators alike. Even as speculation swirled about his loyalty and health in the game, Rausch stayed focused. After the finale, he described the atmosphere as intense but rewarding. “It was electric out there,” he said in a post-finale interview. “Part of the reason of coming to something like this is the environment.”
2. The ‘Love Island USA’ Alum Said He Initially Turned Down the Show Twice
Before agreeing to compete, Rausch revealed he declined the opportunity more than once.
“I said no twice,” Rausch told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes. “I didn’t really want to be on TV again, but I love games and I love competing.”
He explained that his limited reality TV viewing helped change his mind. “I have never watched any reality [TV] other than ‘Survivor,’ and I thought this was kind of a similar vibe,” he said. “I was like, ‘You know what? This could be really fun.’”
That decision ultimately led to his $220,800 win and expanded his fan base beyond “Love Island USA.”
3. Rob Rausch First Gained Fame on ‘Love Island USA’
Rausch first appeared on season six of “Love Island USA” as a Casa Amor addition. Although he did not make it out of Casa Amor during that appearance, fans responded positively, and he returned the following season as a full-time cast member.
During his second stint, Rausch became involved in a love triangle with Leah Kateb and Andrea Carmona. While neither relationship lasted, the storyline increased his visibility and cemented his status as a fan favorite.
His “Love Island USA” background contributed to the intrigue surrounding his performance on “The Traitors.”
4. The Fan-Favorite Confirmed He Has a Girlfriend
Despite on-screen chemistry with Maura Higgins during “The Traitors,” Rausch confirmed he is not single. In an interview with The Cut, he shared that he has been dating someone for the past two months and is building a home in Florence, Alabama, near his parents.
He is also working on woodworking projects with his girlfriend but is keeping her identity private. Fans reacted strongly online. “Good move to keep her identity private, hopefully she doesn’t get any hate,” one Reddit user wrote, while another commented, “They’re already not being normal about it.”
Rausch has not provided additional details about the relationship.
5. ‘The Traitors’ Season 4 Winner Is Reportedly in Talks for ‘Dancing With the Stars’
Following his “The Traitors” win, Rausch is reportedly being pursued by producers of “Dancing With the Stars.”
“Absolutely, DWTS wants Rob. He’s the main target from his ‘Traitors’ season that that show wants to get,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “Nothing is finalized but he’s been given the offer and there’s a spot on the cast that is his if he wants it.”
Another source added, “He has shown interest but this would be stepping way out of his comfort zone so it wasn’t an automatic ‘yes.’”
