Carrie Underwood is embracing her “granny hobbies” — and fans are loving every minute of it.
The country superstar and current “American Idol” judge gave followers a rare look inside her impressive home canning pantry over the weekend, proudly showing off shelves lined with homemade preserves crafted from produce grown on her Tennessee farm.
Underwood Gives Fans a Tour
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, May 24, Underwood shared a video tour of the carefully organized space, revealing just how passionate she has become about preserving food.
“I’m all in on granny hobbies and I LOVE LOVE LOVE to preserve things…especially things that I grow on our farm,” Underwood wrote alongside the post.
The singer explained that canning has become more than just a pastime — it’s something that genuinely brings her joy.
“I’m always learning and I’m always having fun,” she continued. “Just gimme some produce, some mason jars and a glass of wine and I’m set!”
“I don’t know why, but it makes my heart so happy!!!” she added, while also giving credit to a friend who helped teach her the process.
“Got to shout out my friend, @canningdiva for teaching me the ropes. May this encourage someone out there to learn a new helpful hobby!”
In the video, Underwood walked viewers through the dedicated pantry room, showcasing neatly stacked shelves filled with jars of homemade goods.
She pointed out different categories of preserved foods, including jams, fruit butters and pie fillings, all labeled and arranged with care.
At one point during the tour, Underwood joked about wanting to creatively cover an HVAC door, saying she was even crocheting something decorative for the space — a moment that especially delighted fans.
“‘I’m crocheting those as we speak’ I thought I loved you before and now I love you even more!” one fan commented.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the organization and cozy farmhouse feel of the pantry.
“Now I’m going to show this to my husband for inspiration for storage for my cans! I love the details. I know he could build me something similar,” one person wrote.
Another follower praised her growing collection, commenting, “It looks AMAZING!! I’m so excited for you And I’m so proud of your ever-growing collection. You’re kicking butt.”
Some fans even joked about Underwood’s unexpectedly wholesome hobby.

Meanwhile, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley chimed in with her own playful response: “When can we come over for dinner!?? I’m so impressed!”
Others were inspired by Underwood’s skills and even encouraged her to expand the hobby into something bigger.
“Serious question….when are you coming out with a recipe book with all of your jams, soups, etc?….I would LOVE to learn how to can things and store them,” one fan wrote, sharing how helpful it could be for parents managing food allergies.
Underwood Loves Farm Life
Underwood has long spoken openly about how much she loves life on her Tennessee farm.
In a recent interview, the singer explained why reconnecting with her roots has become such an important part of her life.
“You can try to take the farm girl off the farm, but she’s going to find her way back,” Underwood said. “Which is exactly what I did.”
“There’s just something really beautiful about being outside, about planting things, about making … meals for my family,” she added.
For Underwood, farm life is more than a lifestyle — it’s what keeps her grounded.
“It’s a cup-filler for me,” she said. “It feels like that’s what I’m supposed to be doing.”
