Meghan Trainor and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, are officially a family of five. The “All About That Bass” singer announced that the couple welcomed their third child, daughter Mikey Moon Trainor, via surrogate on January 18.
In a joint Instagram post shared January 20, Trainor and Sabara celebrated the arrival and thanked the medical team and their surrogate for helping them expand their family.
“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” the couple wrote. “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl.”
They added, “We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey, and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.”
They also revealed that big brothers Riley and Barry helped choose Mikey’s middle name, making the moment even more meaningful for the family.
Meghan Trainor’s Husband Daryl Sabara Is a Former Child Star
Sabara is best known for playing Juni Cortez in the “Spy Kids” film franchise. He was born June 14, 1992, and grew up in the Los Angeles area alongside his fraternal twin brother, Evan Sabara.
Before landing his breakout role, he appeared on TV shows including “Murphy Brown,” “Friends,” and “Will & Grace.” He later voiced Hero Boy in “The Polar Express,” and continued acting with appearances on “Weeds,” “House M.D.,” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
Trainor and Sabara married in December 2018. In recent years, Trainor has been open about how motherhood has changed her life and mindset, telling Parents in 2023, “I think when you have a kid, you just realize, ‘Wow, life is beautiful and precious. I want to be the best for my kid.’ I’ve never been more motivated.”
Their Oldest Son, Riley, Was Born in 2021
Trainor, a season 22 advisor on “American Idol,” and Sabara welcomed their first child, son Riley, on February 8, 2021. Trainor later shared that Riley was breech and delivered via C-section, and that the first days were emotional and frightening after he experienced breathing issues.
She told Today, “It was one of those horror stories where he didn’t cry.”
Riley ultimately recovered, and Trainor has since shared updates about how joyful his personality is as he grows.
Meghan Trainor’s Son Barry Arrived in 2023
The couple welcomed their second son, Barry Bruce, on July 1, 2023, which Trainor noted is also the anniversary of their first date.
Sharing his birth announcement on Instagram, Trainor said Barry weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and was sideways (transverse), which resulted in another successful C-section. She also expressed gratitude for her medical team and how smoothly the delivery went.
