Chef Ben Robinson Apologizes to ‘Below Deck Down Under’ Cast Member Amid Rising Tension

“Below Deck Down Under” star Ben Robinson upset fellow crew member Ellie Dubaich on the Monday, March 23 episode. She angrily left the galley and spoke to Captain Jason Chambers about the matter.

Dubaich had had enough of Robinson’s pet names. She was brought in as a replacement for Alesia Harris, who struggled under pressure. At first, the two worked strongly together. But the disorganized galley and latest charter pushed their limits.

Why Was Ellie Dubaich Angry at Chef Ben Robinson?

On Episode 8 of “Below Deck Down Under,” which aired on Monday, March 23, Dubaich quit in the middle of the two cooking dinner and spoke with Chambers about Robinson’s behavior. Chambers might not be interested in choosing sides, as the preview for next week shows.

Dubaich and Robinson have strikingly different work styles. Robinson felt out of place in the galley after working on land for years. He gets stressed easily and doesn’t respectfully speak to his sous chef.

Dubaich, on the other hand, is more organized. She loves working in a highly-controlled environment. She also doesn’t like it when the galley is messy. Robinson would leave his shift without cleaning up after making dinner.

During Episode 8, Dubaich shared some of her stressors with Robinson. She warned that if he wasn’t willing to change, their work relationship could come to blows. But Dubaich failed to mention that she didn’t like how he addressed her.

Robinson uses pet names with the entire “Below Deck” cast. However, Dubai disliked the nicknames, as she felt they showed a lack of respect. Towards the end of the episode, she exclaims, “I’m never gonna have that again!”

Robinson wondered what his assistant chef was talking about. She already ran upstairs to the wheelhouse to speak with the captain. She informed Chambers that she was done with Robinson’s behavior.

‘Below Deck Down Under’ Star Apologizes on Instagram

Over on Instagram, Dubaich shared a playful reel of herself on the superyacht. She set the clip to the song “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. Across the videos were the words, “The song that started playing in my head by the 6000th time my male boss calls me HONEY.”

Robinson caught wind of Dubaich’s post. He must have also watched the recent episode, as he understood her frustration. He took to the comments section to write, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean any harm! Well done, Ellie! I can call you chef now!🙌”

Dubaich responded, “Thank you kindly, Chef, 🙏👨‍🍳 a MAJOR lesson learned on my part in communicating properly because I hadn’t explained to you it bothered me, but I also didn’t know I was going to reach my limit that charter. It was never my intention to fight with you to begin with, and it is my biggest regret of the season ❤️❤️❤️”

The Bravo stars worked out their differences, and Dubaich admitted her own faults. Dubaich has much to look forward to after season 4 of “BDDU.” In a previous Instagram post, Dubaich announced that she had finally become a chef after graduating from culinary school.

  1. He didn’t need to apologize. That hoe doesn’t get along with anyone. I was hoping she would get let go but according to this article, I guess I’m stuck with her for the rest of the season. 😞
