Alix Earle Gets Emotional About Braxton Berrios Split as His Social Media Raises Eyebrows

Alix Earle is getting real about a breakup that clearly wasn’t easy. The social media star and podcast host emotionally confirmed her split from NFL player Braxton Berrios after nearly two years together, sharing a candid, teary-eyed video with fans explaining why she felt it was time to walk away. While Earle described the decision as painful and deeply personal, Berrios has taken a noticeably lighter approach in the days since, sparking conversation — and speculation — across social media.

There hasn’t felt like a right time or way to speak on this but I just wanted to sit and talk from the heart the best I can right now

Earle broke her silence in a heartfelt selfie video posted to TikTok and Instagram Reels, explaining that she struggled to find the right moment to speak publicly about the breakup. “I haven’t felt like there was a right time to talk about this,” she said. “But I wanted to sit and talk from the heart.”

The influencer admitted the relationship began to feel unsustainable as her personal priorities shifted. “Part of me just really wants to be focusing on myself right now, and I just feel like I can’t be what Braxton needs,” she shared. “I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him.”

Earle emphasized that the pressure came from within, not from Berrios. “He wasn’t really expecting that of me,” she explained. “I think it was more of me. I constantly felt guilty.”

Despite the breakup, Earle made it clear there was still a deep bond between them. “I love Braxton. He’s my best friend,” she said, adding that the two are simply on “different paths.” She also asked fans not to send hate his way. “I don’t want anyone to come for him or be mean to him,” she said, stressing that the split was mutual and that Berrios “didn’t do anything wrong.”

Braxton Berrios Responds as Fans Weigh In

Days after the breakup news surfaced, Berrios posted a gallery of game-day outfits on Instagram with the caption, “What did I miss?” The seemingly lighthearted post quickly drew attention — and criticism — from fans, many of whom accused him of not showing up for Earle during her run on “Dancing With the Stars.”

One comment pointed out that he didn’t attend her performances, prompting Berrios to respond directly. “I would’ve been at every one if I could’ve,” he wrote. “Sadly I can’t travel like that in season.” When another fan suggested he could have flown out during the NFL bye week, Berrios clarified, “That’s exactly where I went for bye week,” referencing a trip to Los Angeles where Earle surprised him with a birthday celebration.

Earle, who competed alongside Val Chmerkovskiy on “Dancing With the Stars,” finished second overall, behind Robert Irwin and Witney Carson. While Berrios couldn’t attend in person, he did show support from afar, frequently posting clips of her performances to his Instagram Stories throughout the season.

Shortly after Berrios’ post went live, Earle shared photos of herself out dancing with friends, captioning the post, “Can’t a girl just go dancing.” The message seemed to underscore her focus on embracing a new chapter, even as she acknowledged there would be “ups and downs” ahead.

As Earle told fans, opening up wasn’t easy, but it felt necessary. “It’s not easy,” she said. “I just wanted to tell you guys because I know we shared a lot of our relationship.” For now, both appear to be moving forward in their own ways — one with vulnerability, the other with humor — while leaving the past without blame.
