After several days of speculation and fan theories, Alix Earle has spoken out about her recent breakup with Braxton Berrios, and officially confirmed the split. The 24-year-old, who placed second on season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars” as Val Chmerkovskiy’s partner, also explained to fans why she and the former Miami Dolphins player called it quits. Alix Earle Confirms Breakup & Says She Still Loves Braxton Berrios
In the emotional new TikTok video posted on December 13, Alix officially confirmed her split from Braxton Berrios and shared her feelings on the end of the relationship.
She started by saying, “I wanted to give you guys an update on my life, and I’m gonna be speaking for the both of us.” She said the breakup has been “really hard to process in general,” before explaining, “I think why I’ve been scared to say something is cause I feel like it just makes it more real. Braxton and I are no longer together.”
Alix said she and the athlete, who know plays for the Houston Texans, had been “doing long distance since basically June.” She went on, “We haven’t gotten to see each other that often. It’s just been really difficult for me, and I think it was really difficult when I was out in L.A. I really liked it, and I thought maybe I wanted to stay there.” She said the realization of how motivated her new surroundings made her feel was “a scary thing” because it meant she and Braxton might spend more time apart.
Why Did Alix Earle & Braxton Break Up?
In her new TikTok video, Alix explained, “A part of me just really wants to be focusing on myself right now, and I just feel like I can’t be what Braxton needs. I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him.” She acknowledged, “He wasn’t really expecting that of me. I think it was more of a me thing. But I constantly felt guilty.”
Later in the video she revealed, “Part of me doesn’t know if how I feel even makes sense. I think I question myself a lot. Why do I feel this way? Are these feelings correct? I ultimately wanted to go with trusting my feelings.”
Alix Earle Says She Still Loves Braxton
Despite the social media stars calling off their high-profile relationship, Alix says she still has love for her ex. She said, “I love Braxton. He’s my best friend. So it’s been really difficult as we’re trying to just go forward with this.”
The New Jersey native continued, “It just kind of feels like we’re on two different paths right now. And it sucks. We’re on good terms, and I don’t want anyone to come for him or be mean to him, or to say it’s because he couldn’t make it to ‘Dancing With the Stars.'”
Braxton was previously questioned by Earle’s fans via Instagram why he did not attend any of her “Dancing With the Stars” performances. The 30-year-old wide receiver explained he was unable to leave his NFL responsibilities, according to People. He did appear in a video wishing Alix good luck in the finale, which was broadcast on the show.
Alix Earle’s Stepmother Reacts to Her Split from Braxton Berrios
Alix’s stepmother, Ashley Earle, left a comment on the video showing love and reacting to the breakup. Here’s what she wrote:
“Love you so much. Love Braxton so much. He’s always going to be a part of our lives. He has no choice, especially because of Thomas. I think he’s on Facetime with him right now. Xo.”
Thomas is Alix’s 8-year-old brother. He is the youngest of the three children Alix’s father TJ shares with Ashley Earle, per People. TJ married Ashely in 2013, after splitting from Alix’s mom Alisa around 2008. TJ and Alisa’s divorce was finalized in 2011. In addition to Alix, the exes share one other daughter, Ashtin, who was born around 2003.
