“Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 was one of the most memorable seasons to date, and it was a close competition. Social media influencer Alix Earle and her professional dance partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, came in second to Robert Irwin and his professional dance partner, Witney Carson.
Although Earle and Chmerkovskiy did not take home the Mirrorball Trophy, they did take away lasting memories they will cherish.
Jenna Johnson’s Sweet Words for Alix Earle
Earle posted a YouTube video blog on December 6, weeks after the finale on November 25. She titled it, “My Last Night in the DWTS Ballroom.” The video gives audiences a better look at the work that went on behind the scenes and serves as a beautiful summary of her experience. It also highlighted the relationship that Earle had with Chmerkovskiy, and with his wife, fellow professional dancer Jenna Johnson. Johnson was eliminated at the start of this season’s competition, alongside celebrity competitor Corey Feldman.
In the vlog, a sweet moment is shared between Johnson, Chmerkovskiy, and Earle after their Freestyle dance. Johnson was incredibly supportive of her husband’s journey, and in Earle’s vlog, she expressed her gratitude that Chmerkovskiy had Earle as his dance partner this season.
“I’m going to get a little emotional,” Johnson says. “You made him shine. He did some of his best work because of you, and I’ve never seen him so happy to be doing a season and so fulfilled. And that is all because of your hard work.” She continued, “I know he’s not an easy teacher; he can be so rude sometimes, but you had no ego, and you just took it. Not many people can do that, so I’m so proud of you, and you’re part of our family forever. We just love you.”
Earle showed her appreciation for Johnson, too, noting how she had been great throughout the experience. The two women then embrace, and it’s a beautiful, heartfelt moment.
Alix Earle Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at DWTS Experience
Earle shared her thoughts in the caption of her video, writing, “I can’t believe I’m even saying this… ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is officially over!! This episode has EVERYTHING from my final time dancing in the ballroom, the final ‘Valetta mode,’ our last TikToks, and Val abusing the soundboard like it was his full-time job…also a Serving in Heels event?!” she wrote. “We went through our favorite memories of the entire season, had the sweetest pre-show pep talk with Robert (your Season 34 champ!!), and shared so much love backstage!!“
Fans applauded Earle, Johnson, and Chmerkovskiy in the comment section. “SOBBED when Jenna got emotional. I am so sad for my close friend Alix Earle, that this is over,” a comment reads. “Jenna’s little speech brought tears to my eyes,” another fan shared.
