Derek Hough celebrated his third wedding anniversary to Hayley Erbert Hough by sharing a rare glimpse into their wedding, which took place on August 26, 2023.
The first slide was a video clip showing several beautifully cinematic moments of the fairytale event, from their run down the aisle to the glamorous reception. Next was a picturesque shot showing Hayley’s silhouette in her gown while Derek kneels and takes her hand. Last was a shot of Derek pulling off one of his signature high-flying jumps on the dancefloor while Hayley grins and grabs his hand.
Haley served as a troupe member on “Dancing With the Stars” from 2015 to 2019, while Derek has been a judge since 2020 when he stepped into the void left by Len Goodman, who retired at the time and passed away in 2023.
Before that, Derek was at the top of the pack of pros, winning the Mirror Ball Trophy a record-breaking six times.
Derek Hough’s Touching 3rd Anniversary Message for Haley
Derek penned a touching message to celebrate the milestone. He captioned his post, “My love, three years.
I honestly can’t believe it. It feels like that day is both yesterday and a lifetime ago. We stood there and had no idea just how much deeper, richer, and more profound our story would become.”
The striking blonde then wrapped things up with a shout-out to the couple first child, a daughter, whom they welcomed in December 2025 by saying, “We’ve walked through light and shadow, challenge and triumph; and through it all, our love has grown stronger, and then came our little miracle, our beautiful treasure Everley.”
“I love you endlessly, today, tomorrow, always ♥️♥️” he also promised.
Derek’s comment about walking through “shadow” may be a reference the scary chapter the pair faced together when Hayley suffered a brain that required surgery, and could have been fatal.
The health scare happened on December 5, 2023, as she and Derek were performing on their “Symphony of Dance” tour.
In a June 2026 exclusive, she spoke to People about some of the deeper details, including the fact that doctors removed 40% of her skull during the procedure to treat the bleed, which was caused by a burst blood vessel. She told the mag she got through the tough times by simply focusing on the few things that were still within her control during her trying recovery.
The pair’s remaining tour dates were rescheduled for spring 2024, which Hayley was able to join, and they revived it for an encore in 2026.
Derek Hough Fondly Remembers Dolly Parton
After Dolly Parton’s death was announced on Tuesday, August 25, Derek reacted by sharing a throwback photo of a moment he was lucky enough to come face-to-face with the star.
That was back in 2007, when Dolly made a special appearance on “DWTS” and shared the stage with pros Derek, Mark Ballas, and Cheryl Burke while singing her hits “9 to 5” and “Better Get to Livin.”
In the caption, Derek praised the Tennessee native for her “her spirit, her kindness, her joy, her light” before saying his experience with her was something he will “never take for granted.”
