Donny Osmond revisited Season 18 of DWTS with a rare Instagram photo, where he appeared not as a contestant but in another important role.
The entertainer, who took home a mirrorball in Season 9 alongside Kym Johnson Herjavec, posted the retro image to the delight of his fans. He called the experience “a blast.”
Donny Osmond Asked Fans if They Recalled His Special DWTS Role
In an April 9 throwback post, Donny Osmond took it all the way back to 2014. Instead of performing as a celebrity dancer on the ABC competition series, he was asked back in an entirely different role as a judge.
In a photo, Osmond is seated alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and the series’s late head judge, Len Goodman. He returned to judge Disney Night, an evening dedicated to performances honoring some of the best moments in Disney history.
Osmond captioned the photo, “Who remembers when I was invited back to ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to be a guest judge on Season 18 for Disney Night? Not sure if it was my ‘I’ll Make a Man Out of You’ voice credentials or my Mirrorball Trophy I earned in season 9 that got me the spot. But either way, it was a blast!”
The legendary entertainer is one of a series of former contestants who have sat in the DWTS judge’s seat, according to PEOPLE Magazine. He is recognized alongside Zendaya, Cher, Mel B, and Shania Twain, as well as Joey Fatone, Idina Menzel, and Leah Remini.

In the comments section of Donny Osmond’s Instagram photograph, fans shared their own remarks about the entertainer’s long history with the competition series.
“You were the only reason why I watched that program. Congratulations on your win,” wrote one follower.
A second admirer penned, “U bet I remember that u were on DWTS as a judge! U did such a wonderful job on there! Hope u will be a judge again!”
“Yes, I do. You were a great judge, but an even better winner!” exclaimed a third social media user.
A fourth fan noted, “I watch everything I can that you are on. You bring so much joy to my life.”
Along with DWTS, Osmond also competed on Season 1 of “The Masked Singer” in 2019. He came in second place on the FOX series.
Donny Osmond has extended his solo residency at Harrah’s Showroom at Harrah’s Las Vegas through December 2026.
